IEMs for mids/highs; under $60
I went out on a limb and purchased the MEElectronics A151-bk. I got them for $20 shipped so I figured it was a pretty good deal.- rpegaming

IEMs for mids/highs; under $60
I don't believe I have. I'll look now. Those seemed okay but I'm not sure they are what I'd like. Honestly I know I said I'd spend $60, but if the RE-400's are worth the price at $99.99 I would be tempted to get those since I use HE-400's at home. I'll look more into the brands/items you...- rpegaming

IEMs for mids/highs; under $60
I need new IEMs and I'm looking to spend under $60. I mostly listen to bands like Nightwish/Sonata Arctica so the mids and highs are the most important aspect for me. Any suggestions? If it helps any, I have the HE-400's for at-home use. So a similar sound would be...- rpegaming

Is there a list of IEM's that have in-line mute buttons??
Edit: Nevermind. I'll just get a regular pair and tell my supervisor to deal with it if he sees me muck with my phone, lol.- rpegaming

Hifiman HE-400
I guess I was just unlucky...Kind of sucks that both of the cables came the way they did though...I'm glad to hear that others have had better experiences with the cables I wouldn't trade the headphones for the world...They are ridiculously comfortable...they felt a little heavy at...- rpegaming

Hifiman HE-400
Some of you may or may not remember me...well...It's been about 8 or so months since I got the Hifiman HE-400s...and...while I love the headphones themselves...I absolutely hate the cables that Hifiman makes. Both the cable it came with and my replacement cable arrived, basically, well, falling...- rpegaming

Quote: After using them a bit more and growing accustomed to the open sound the volume definitely seems loud. Am I the only one that experienced that? It's really my first new major upgrade so I'm not sure if it was just typical adjustment. (I've never had a sound card or open...- rpegaming

Quote: Makes sense. I've further reduced them a fair bit...but I think it's just because I like having my games up a little louder than my music...it's also my first few days actually USING the sound card...so i'm still familiarizing myself with it..:3- rpegaming

It's definitely not too loud...and I know it's not my hearing... I guess I am used to listening to my stuff rather high...maybe it's just that it's my first pair of open cans ^^- rpegaming

Quote: You gotta remember I'm using a Titanium HD. At least the dac part is there. I just need to get an amp..I REALLY need some gain... They sound good for some things - but from what I can tell, most of my .flacs have -9-10 db track gains..they're very quiet. I think an amp...- rpegaming

So I got the headphones today...and...I don't have my amp yet...and I gotta say... Not quite what I expected. Hopefully they sound better the more I listen.. Well...that and when I get the amp.. I'm listening to .flacs if that helps at all. Hell I'd even go as...- rpegaming

Quote: Indeed. The Banshee feels pretty heavy so I don't think it'll be too hard to adjust. The leaking may be a concern...not sure yet. (at least for work) I should have done overnight instead of standard :(...i don't think I'll even get a tracking number...le sigh...- rpegaming

Quote: Thank you! I imagine it would be. The He-400 doesn't seem HARD to drive necessarily...just that it would scale better with better amps.. I was tempted to overnight but decided the $33 would be better used for an amp.- rpegaming

I just placed my order for the He-400 ^^. And to Davidsh...if that's the case, should I just buy an E11 and then get an asgard later? (Would save me about $240 upfront cost right now - just in case i don't like the HE-400 and want something else)- rpegaming

Hm...The E11 doesn't seem to be compatible with the S3 (based on what I've read). However....the Odac+O2 combo IS compatible. Should I just get that instead of the asgard? (Would eventually get an asgard anyways..)- rpegaming

So I tried asking in that review thread about what to pick from the list of compatible devices with the S3 for the HE-400...but I didn't get any bites. Does anybody else have a clue? =/- rpegaming

Hey fellas. Out of this list here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/595071/android-phones-and-usb-dacs/270#post_8660606 What is the best of those for the HE-400? I need a portable dac/amp for use with my Samsung S3. Thanks.- rpegaming
