I wonder if it's possible to make this with an over the ear model, then the cold wouldn't be a problem and will give an even more unique sound signature due to the tube being curved. They'll have to do away with the large bead thing though and make a more slim and compact cable.

looks like a mushroom.. haven't seen these much around for sale  http://i.imgur.com/D06vwT9.jpg   It feels like a medium size silicone tip, but with the length of a biflange. 

Does anyone use a small flat type case for their IEMs? I was thinking of using a thicker cigarette tin/case. I need something that would fit in my pocket and most of the soft circular cases are kind of big, and will flatten in pockets.   Edit:~ Found some... Pelican 0945 Pelican 0910...

But the particles aren't great representation of the sound waves because when they fall back down, they hit the ones coming up and distorts it...

AKG q701 or AKG K167   I listen to dubstep and classical. maybe occasional hiphop+EDM   Also an amp suggestion? doesn't have to be portable. hopefully sub $100
