    Easy Earpad Installation

Hey all, just to share with you guys a simple method i discovered by chance and made a video tutorial to show some forum guys. If the groove where your earpads go over has a "slot" or "cut", then watch the video on the simple guide. Using this method, it literally takes like 10 secs to install...

ok just another alternative to the bitumen sheet, simple alternative touch be 3M mounting tape, and a layer of kitchen aluminum foil over it to damp the cups? this is an example of the bitumen sheet i used for sound proofing/dampening my tin can of a van (sorry still can't post pictures)...

I figure that's probably what is holding the s500s from being comparable with the higher end headphones, having thick, well insulated, well-damped cups instead of cheap thin plastic cups, considering the quality of the drivers in them. It's kinda like putting a GTR engine into a aston mini, the...

now that you mention it, yeah the cups do vibrate a lot with my current set up of stock pads and taped vents. Actually i can suggest a solution to the resonance, cuz awhile back i was restoring an old mini van and fitted it with a good philips head unit and MB Quartz speakers. Good system, but...

Hey you're most welcome, i'm surprised no one else discovered this hidden "feature" though being my first proper headphones, i don't know if other headphones have this groove as well, seeing as to how much you guys seem to swap around the earpads!

haha... you make it sound like it's a bad thing, though i hope it's not. I just appreciate the bass because all this while i've been on the crappy stock iphone4 ones, and for my laptop i use a Logitech H330 USB headset, cus i only have one audio port, so can't use those headsets with 2 separate...

It's real easy actually, just slot whatever part of the pad lip into the "cut", so that the lip is like halfway in the groove, halfway out, and turn the pad "away" from the groove, while lightly holding on to the first part where it's already in the groove. Once you complete a whole round the...

woah... covering the vents and using the stock pads gave the bass a whole new level, the pads are literally vibrating, feels like i'm physically in the club! sick... guess i'll be selling off my ATH pleathers, anyone wants them? they're brand new!

ahh... nvm.... found the answers to what i was asking! tape mod it is! no scotch around though, gonna try masking tape. Anyone tried those slightly thicker foam tapes to see the difference in sound? I've got some 3M industrial strength grey double side tape which i might give a go! and i...

Hey guys, finally received my s500 after a long 3 weeks wait. Got it from ebay cus amazon merchants mostly don't ship to anywhere other than US for some reason! Mine didnt have tracking, so it was pretty much a nail-biting wait, but it arrived right on the last day of exams! Timing couldn't be...
