For a laptop (dv6t), my speakers are loud. But sound quality is horrible just like any other laptop.

Anyone have experience with both these and MrSpeakers Mad Dogs?

"Over ear" meaning on top of ear or Supra-Aural. As opposed to what I call around ear (Circum-Aurul). Sorry it was a little confusing.

Must be closed back and full size. No over-ear headphones either.

I think the only reason that I would tune them myself is if I could do it quickly. When you say "tuning" do you mean that your changing the eq to match your taste in music? Or just tuning it for sound quality in general? 

Did you mod them yourself? If so, how long did it take you? Because I'd rather spend a little more and get the mad dogs if it's going to take months to perfect them. Not to mention my EQ tastes change every other day.

1 more thought. Are the mad dogs a significant upgrade from m50s?

One person said that they missed their Mad Dogs after listening to the M100s. Other than that, I can't find a good comparison because the Mad Dogs aren't mass produced.

I should have mentioned that I will be using them with a Fiio E10. It looks like I'll get the Mad dogs.

I was thinking about the k701s before I decided to get closed headphones, but now it's between the mad dogs and k550. Anyone have experience with both?

the denon d2000s are $470 on amazon (I''m not buying used or refurbished). and they need to be closed back. im leaning toward akg k550
