Who here is a high school audiophile?
I swear band directors and band members need earplugs (I use firearm earplugs) because a single trombone is 90 db. I think that there should be legislation on volume limits, I heard in Europe the iPod touch can't play louder than 100 db, that's still loud but better than U.S. which can do 115...- DanielReeLee

Who here is a high school audiophile?
Quote: So much people are losing their hearing, I bet that audiologists will make so much money. Also unfortuently you can't reflow those ear hair cells.- DanielReeLee

Who here is a high school audiophile?
Doesn't it annoy you whenever people listen to their music at such high volumes. Seriously, quality not quantity. Also everyone is like the new earpods are so good. But those wimpy earpods can't match up to my Shures.- DanielReeLee

Need a hard case for my SRH440
I can't find a case specifically for headphones from pelican. Can you name the model and price. Also how big will the case be, will it be like a big box or small box.- DanielReeLee

Need a hard case for my SRH440
I need a hard case soon because the sack that came with it has a small hole. It should get worse. I want to know a hard case that fits the SRH440 and also I want it around $20 or less.- DanielReeLee

Who here is a high school audiophile?
15 and freshmen. My headphones are SRH440. After research I found them to be good sounding but uncomfortable. It feels like wearing a vise after time. Everyone else stock apple earbuds at max volume.- DanielReeLee

Your 'unlikely' audiophile songs
I would not use a song at all. Instead I would compare the sound from the headphones to the real sound. This is a good way to measure accuracy.- DanielReeLee

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Today in Spanish after a test I got my headphones out of my locker (SRH440). I assembled them and everybody was staring at me. I guess full size headphones must be like a shock to my classmates. Some people check them however but most people will stick to their apple earbuds at max volume.- DanielReeLee

Has anyone else seen this on Skullcandy's website?
That's why I hate marketing, they always lie. That's how beats got great sales. If marketing was honest we would see better and better headphones instead of companies lying about better quality.- DanielReeLee

Rap Sucks
I hate mainstream cause they rap about the same things over and over and people buy it. I just listen to Lecrae and I'm sick of all mainstream music because they also talk about the same things.- DanielReeLee

The Ipod Touch/Iphone/Ipad Thread
Minecraft. Not perfect but decent enough. Pocket planes, similar to tiny towers. Angry birds seasons got free :-) Autumn dynasty is a rts and you need good enough skill. Lead wars is turn based and it needs hit and run tactics and ambush. Heroes of order and chaos. Server problems but its great.- DanielReeLee

The Official Head Fi Ear Wax Thread
Don't use q tips. It says on the package do not inset into ear and it just compresses earwax. What I do is just take a shower and put some water in my ear, it cleans out well. Does anyone use Debrox by any chance though.- DanielReeLee

Anyone else play trombone?
I played trombone for 2 years and I learned everything I needed for high school band in a summer. Oh and there's an 8th position when the slide just comes off the inner slide and a 9th position when the slide is on the ground.- DanielReeLee

Trombones
I've been playing trombone for 2 years but I learned everything I needed for middle school band in 1 summer. My advice is get a trombone that doesn't have a rotory valve like a Thayer or hagmann valve. The reason is that trombone has a unique tone unlike any other brass instrument because it...- DanielReeLee

Passive vs Active Noise Cancelling
I think ANC would be good with iems if they did some more research. The ANC should use frequencies that the ear can't hear and maybe this overkill destructive interference might work, if overkill destructive interference can work I think music can sound better. This is only in theory.- DanielReeLee

Help me Get new good earphones
Sorry I also don't know how all these electronic music genres sound like but according to Wikipedia I think I have a good enough picture. Head-fi Withdrawal
To prevent cable breakages, get headphones with detatchable cables. I know there's more brands but I know Shure has all their headphones have detatchable cables. New cable is $20 so just worry about breaking the headphone itself.- DanielReeLee

Help me Get new good earphones
I'm a new audiophile so take my advice as a grain of salt. I'm looking into SRH440 headphones, but you like bassy headphones so this is not going to meet your needs cause its neutral (although a little bass weak but can be fixed with SRH840 earpads) so it's good all around but to have other...- DanielReeLee
