I have mine and it came with reversed polarity drivers. Did this happen to you also? Please check with this clip: With correct polarity, these largely solve distant mids and they sound a LOT better. This is easy to correct if you know how to open them up.- IBJamon

I am also testing a review sample of these. I had to fix a manufacturing mistake (swapped L&R) but since doing that I am very impressed with these! Definitely treble-head approved, for sure. I have a feeling these could really shake up their price point for the discerning audiophile!- IBJamon

The Koss ESP950 thread (ESP owners, please contribute! :)
That's honestly quite surprising, given how well regarded most Topping equipment has become. Many of their 'normal' headphone amps have reference-level measurements.- IBJamon

I still love mine, use it daily. The only thing is the volume knob has gotten a little scratchy. Not sure what can be done to fix that. Otherwise it's been great!- IBJamon

I recommend lining the cups with some putty. I think I used sticky tac or similar. You don't need to go crazy but a little bit in the flat indentions should take care of it.- IBJamon

I did the Wicked Cushions thing, and they work, but they are not as comfy (to me) as advertised. And they are a royal pain to install. Not that I discourage you from trying them, but I was hoping for better.- IBJamon

I know this is a very old post, but how well did this end up working? I have several PD adapters, and if I could replace the massive Koss 9v wallwart with a much smaller PD power adapter and one of these, well, I might just do it!- IBJamon

What I was asking basically is if the RCA connectors on the E90 are a shared common ground or not. If so, then yes I will not try this. Thanks!- IBJamon

Does anyone know if there is any electrical difference between the rca and 3.5mm jack on the E90? One of my dacs supports a balanced connection (with a claimed lower noise level) but I'd have to convert from 4.4mm to RCA and I'm unsure if it's worth the hassle.- IBJamon

Does anyone know how to optimize SoundID?
I have a new pair of 1MORE earbuds with SoundID built in. And... I hate it! I love the idea, but I am forced to use one of their test tracks that I've never heard before, and tune the sound in ways I have no idea what I am doing.... then when I get the results and listen to my own music, I...- IBJamon

Did you guys see that they finally replaced this model? https://emotiva.com/collections/frontpage/products/basx-a2m-stereo-flex-amplifier I would say that since it uses a SMPS power supply instead of a linear, this one is likely to retain its value for quite some time :)- IBJamon

Honestly this amp can drive well pretty much any bookshelf. Just choose what you like. :) I'm pairing mine with a fairly cheap pair of Pioneer BS-22's and they sound great together.- IBJamon

I reconnected my A-100 as a headphone amp to connect to my Koss ESP's - I honestly can't tell you why they sound so much better after being ran through the A-100s - but they do. It's so good to have it back; I went without my A-100 for a while after moving for a while. Can't explain the happy...- IBJamon

Thank you very much for your responses! It's unfortunate that the EQ presets are what they are, but I'll deal. You mentioned adjusting the ambience. What does that do exactly? I have not found a good explanation of this in the documentation. Also, did you guys know that they no longer...- IBJamon

Hello everyone! I have been in need of a set of closed hi-fi headphones, and own several open back planars, and had the opportunity to get these at a great price. Now that I have them, they do a lot right, but I have some questions/thoughts. However, unlike some in this thread, while I am...- IBJamon

Try listening to it in bypass mode before sending it back. Your opinion of the sound is consistent with an impedance mismatch - if your headphones have a lower impedance than the amp's output impedance (in this case the headphone out is 220 Ohm by default!). They designed this amp's default...- IBJamon

I absolutely love my A-100. It's a fantastic desktop amplifier, and a great headphone amp - if you have inefficient headphones. I do wish it had an option for a voltage divider/reduced power out (with low impedance) instead of the goofy 220 Ohm resistor, however. I imagine it might be...- IBJamon

The pops came back pretty quickly... I wonder how long I have to wait before the PSU calms down. Has anyone tried a regulated power supply? Does that prevent this issue, and is there a reasonably prices one that would work? (I doubt linear vs. switching would make an appreciable difference)- IBJamon
