Ah, I didn't see your (@dakanao) link on Speedom before. My bad, haha.   EDIT: Your quote didn't post for some reason: P.S. @KamijoIsMyHero, had no idea that Jada and Loso have new albums coming out. Looking forward to 'em.

After years of speculation, it finally happened. Tech N9ne ft. Krizz Kaliko & Eminem - Speedom (Worldwide Choppers 2):    EDIT: Being able to rap fast is easy. Especially when it comes to Twista, his raps are usually just on the beat, beat, beat. Count, count, count. In other words, very damn...

For an art form to be game changing, it needs a receiving audience. I completely agree with you that it is through albums that an artist's merit should be judged. I also agree that a good album is hard to find in mainstream hip-hop. However, I still stick by my stance that TPAB is game changing...

It's not about the delivery itself, but the message that keeps GKMC and TPAB together, especially the latter. To quote Kendrick, "This is ‘sophisticated gangsta’ ****... This is the album that I always wanted to make. It’s what I grew up on. good kid, m.A.A.d city, I maneuvered through the...

Haha, that is actually pretty funny (mocking Em), but that's where we differ in taste. I love substance as much as anyone seriously involved in rap, but when it comes to freestyles, technicality matters more to me. It's just the pure art of juggling syllables. Personally, it's a lot easier to...

Sick (replying to linglingjr).   At the same time though, when it comes to technicality, it's hard to match/beat Shady Records (Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf, and of course, Eminem). Again, the focus here is on technicality.

Absolutely game changing hip hop album. I expected something amazing from Kendrick as always, but this... WOW.

That's classic Lupe. His verses are so dense that it's impossible to fully understand his genius without analyzing them line by line, time after time. It really takes work so if that's not your thing, understandable.

It's Tetsuo & Youth season. Period.   I was pleasantly surprised by B4.Da.$$, but it's got nothing on Lupe. Opinion, yes. But regarding poetry? Joey ain't no bad $$ in that sense.   EDIT: can't say a** on this forum.

What up guys,   After a long hiatus from Head-Fi, I'm back with an open mind -- especially because the hip-hop scene has been thriving beyond my expectations lately. Since I got some time now, I'm going to check out every suggestion on this thread as an inspiration to better my art.   What...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

I know I'm nitpicking, but my right earpiece squeaks slightly when I press down on the nozzle (swapping tips, during the seal, etc.). SQ is unaffected though. The left earpiece, on the other hand, feels rock solid. Anyone with a similar experience or observation? I'm very OCD about these things...

My bad for bringing back the Control fiasco, BUT...     She kept it the realest out of all the responses so far, absolutely nailed Kendrick's point in the coffin. Papoose and Cassidy were being a bit juvenile with their responses, gay jokes, name calling and what not.   EDIT: She...

Quote: I'm not disclaiming any of the NY legends nor am I saying Kendrick deserves that title; he doesn't. There's a reason why he left out Jay, Nas, Andre 3K, and Em from the challenge.   Quote: That's his exact intention it seems; Kendrick has put hip hop back on the map by...

Quote: Had to chime in real quick for this. I expected nothing less from a quarter of the Slaughter, now waiting on Budden's rebuttal.   Kendrick got the hip hop world inspired again. This kid has always been incredible and doing everything he can to better himself. I don't believe he...

Quote: I'm a full-fledged Korean, immigrated to the US after elementary school, haha.   I ask since I write/rap/freestyle myself. I actually learned English from rapping; it allowed me to get rid of all my accents, understand all the intricacies, etc. I'm way more comfortable with...

I haven't been around head-fi in a while, but the new SE846 has sparked a new interest in me (along with this hip-hop thread, as always, haha). My question now is, does anyone on this forum (or thread) rap or write/perform spoken poetry?

Honestly, all I did was present my opinion on what makes rap great for me, and my interpretation of that.       His delivery definitely needs work, but very nice lyrically, if not too literal. Just something different, though, he falls under the "lyrical, miracle, spiritual individual, criminal, subliminal, in a swimming pool" joke by Shady (and originally Sean Price) poking jabs at some underground...

I haven't followed Korean rap religiously as I do American rap but I have kept in touch with it. I even watched some of the freestyle battle series a short while back, and none of them impressed me much. I simply cannot take it that seriously in Korean. It just doesn't work for me knowing the...
