Has anyone found the K5 Pro at a US vendor other than Amazon?

Thank you for the opportunity! I've enjoyed Fiio products in the past and am excited to try the latest and greatest.

Sorry for the late response. They are very popular headphones for sure. I see them out and about as portable cans quite frequently, and a lot of DJ's use them. I more meant they're not popular amongst the high-end section of the audiophile community.

I always enjoyed the M-100's as great closed-back basshead cans. I know they aren't popular here, but I'm interested to see if there's any difference in sound on the 'master' version. Apparently the Crossfade 2 Wireless had different tuning, so it's not out of the picture for these to sound...

Question for Fiio or those who have it: Is the 3.5mm line out a straight line-level out, or can you adjust the volume with the volume nob (or digitally)?

Thanks for digging up that info! Seems like this is going to be a bit higher-end than the previous TX0RP models. The 4.4mm cable is a nice option, it would be nice for that to become a standard!

Perfectly valid reason. So sorry to hear about your injury. For a swift recovery    Todd, because of this delay, could you just tell #5 on the list to send it back to you? There's no way it'll arrive in time, and I don't want the precious Nomad to get knocked around in a college post counter...

Who has the lil' Nomad right now? (haha, I just realized the VPI Nomad is being a nomad right now, traveling around to all of us ) Mine needs to arrive at least before I head back to school; I can ship it back from school, but I'll loose to much time if it arrives at my house after I've left.

The VTF-100 was technically pre-production, though the general consensus is that it wasn't sonically different from the M-100. You also got a hand-written note from Val 

It's safe to expect sonic improvements over the M-80.  I'm sure the update was to bring the on-ear model in line with the M-100, in terms of features and overall detail/clarity.   V-Moda does do pre-orders, and they're always fantastic! I pre-ordered the M-100 from them. Although it was $10...

Haven't been able to read everything since my last post, but as I tried to catch up, I came up with a little phrasing:   A DAC is to music files as an amp is to headphones.  Each helps to better present something.  If we could plug our headphones straight into our music, that would be ideal...

OP, two issues I can think of in your setup:   1. You're amping the HD 800 with a freakin' O2. Although some say that combo works well, and it should certainly be better than your laptop's amp, I doubt the O2 is driving the HD800 to it's potential (keep in mind, I've never heard the HD800)...

If you're plugging your headphones into a DAP, smartphone, or laptop/computer, you're using an amplifier.  So why would you not want the amplifier to be better?  Yes, some headphones sound acceptable without a dedicated amp, but almost all I've tested have been improved with proper...

Definitely.  Unless you're doing critical listening, which I hope you're not doing out and about , most open-backs are ok, in fact better due to being aware of your surrounding.

Nice setup. The Beyer DT models can go for miles with DAC, amp, and cable upgrades.

And Steve G didn't even hear them at CES; Hifiman gave them to him right before the show  But they are in fact demoable at the show. Seriously guys! Get over to that booth!

I have no doubt they feature the utmost comfort. It just probably won't look too attractive on anyone's head     Grado headbands never bothered me either, for some reason.
