Oh, I'll be there. Just not completely positive that I'll bring a bunch of great with me. Likewise. I'm not sure if I'll be going to RMAF again this year, so I don't know if we'll have another opportunity to catch up again Amy time soon.- jazzerdave

Dallas, TX - Sunday, September 29th, 2013 - "Big Tex Wears Headphones Too" meetup
I've been too busy to active here lately, so I'm sorry I haven't responded to this earlier. I should be able to attend. I'm not sure what I'll feel up to hauling around with me, but I might be able to convince myself to bring the LG and HE-6/HD800 again.- jazzerdave

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
To those curious about Dan's amping, I know he's used a Mjolnir and PB2 for the balanced testing and has had a Bifrost/Lyr stack and a Conductor in the past. I'm also fairly confident that he's not limited his testing to just one or two amps. Tried them with the Taboo and Liquid Glass...- jazzerdave

Quote: I've found that the Expedit doesn't always hold up to being fully packed with records over time, but a few metal brackets on the back to reinforce it make it very durable. T-brackets L-brackets It's not completely necessary, but I'm paranoid.- jazzerdave

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I was also in Dan's beta group. I had the opportunity to test it paired with a Decware Taboo, Cavalli Liquid Glass, and my speaker amp (a modified Dynaco ST-70). Compared against the MD 3.2 protos, my HE-6, and my HD800's. They really were wonderful. I'll try to post more as I have the time...- jazzerdave

KOSS ESP-950 Thread
Sooo.... I had been using the ESP-950 as my primary can for about a week, and then yesterday I got severe static in the left channel (to the point that it's unusable). I was able to discharge a bit of it, but it's still there.- jazzerdave

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Quote: That's a wonderful player. I spent a while listening to it at RMAF last year in the Modwright room. I have one of their preamps, and I've yet to hear anything that Dan Wright has made that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. That's one of the best universal players I've heard to date.- jazzerdave

Quote: Amperex 8416's were nice. I've also liked the 6H30i's. Just about any headphone is good with the clear top RCA 6SN7s. I've just started breaking in a pair for Brimar CV4034's that are sounding very promising. What about you?- jazzerdave

The diary entries of a little girl in her 30s! ~ Part 2
That would most likely not get you out of the lease, but in Texas, the break-in would be grounds to terminate it (it worked in my case). You'll probably have to find someone more familiar with property in Louisiana to get a good answer though.- jazzerdave

Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared)
Quote: I own them (and have owned each of the models as they've progressed). Here's the appreciation thread. Personally, they get more head time than my HD800 and HE-6 combined. Living with a noisy dog, loud air conditioner and other background noises, it's much easier to just grab the...- jazzerdave

The diary entries of a little girl in her 30s! ~ Part 2
Quote: I had preordered one of the Lytros, but ended up returning it. It's interesting and fun to try out, but it needs a very well lit environment. It did horribly in low light situations and wasn't even all that good in broad daylight. Still, it was fun to play around with focus...- jazzerdave

Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
I have both the Taboo mk2 and CSP2+, and neither does a good job of driving the HE-6. The Mini Torii might work, and the Zen Torii mk3 would certainly do well (with an impedance adapter from the speaker taps), but neither of those is really a headphone amp. I split my time with the HE-6...- jazzerdave
