    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Sometime last autumn, at least in my local store. I didn't check it out, it might have been anything from a drive, to a returned sample. Just remember the price, and kicking my own rear end later, for not buying it. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Local retailer in Sweden. www.elgiganten.se They jack the price up way to high, but then every so often they sell them for the equivalent of 120-150USD. Combined with the walking distance to have them replaced, it turned out to be to my advantage. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I want a pair that looks like they are supposed to, and not where the decor is lifting showing the silver side of the foil, making it look like a big nasty scratch. Was it only cosmetically, sure. Whats the first thing you see about the headphones? Yes, cosmetics. So, i want them to look right...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I ended up replacing my pair 4 times, to finally end up with a pair where the "decor sticker" on the cups aren't lifting, and showing silver. They all sounded exactly alike, all said "Woox" on the headphones, only the first one said "Woox" on the box, the current set, and the other two...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Has this EVER been an issue? It's my main complaint about the X2's, they feel like they are going to fall of my head at any second. Well, not right now, waiting for yet another replacement to be shipped out to me... B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

There are if nothing else third party pads on the market. But to be quite frank, glued, in my world, doesn't mean replaceable. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I have to ask, exactly what about open headphones is it you don't like? I was under the imagination that there was sound-profiles one could like, or dislike, where as most open headphones have a significantly wider sound-stage, but going from there to automatically disqualify all open...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

And a sweet design to. But its far to expensive.     Anyway thank you all for the suggestions. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Right. No tubes then. Since they weren't socketed, it's not a great loss anyway. 95% of the point with tubes is to play around with different ones, looking for the right sound. Well. That, and actually listening to music is only half of the last 5%, the subtle glow is equally important. Some...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

It's not so much about the budget, it's more about the point where you get diminishing returns... There is enough money on the account that i could confidently say it would cover pretty much anything that could qualify as DAC / Headphone amp, or combo, but i'd much rather keep parts of that...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I'm thinking DAC, and AMP, but it should preferably not cost more then the headphones did. So about $230. Got any recommendations?   I've been using the PC output, (undisclosed "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver") hooked to a PA2V2, which has been working well, but only lets me use them...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Length. Height was just enough to show the silvery side, but not enough to see an air-gap. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Depends mostly on how they make, and apply it. If it's made from pree-glued sheets with a stamping press, and ready for application, then i would call it a sticker. Thats how the aluminum foil stickers for the X2 is made, no doubt.   From looking at my pair, i would say the sliver of silver...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

You DO realize that this RMA discussion is about a aluminum foil sticker that is placed in a machined grove on the cups, which, when the glue is unable to keep it in place, pokes out a little, and looks like a silver sliver, a scratch, along the circumference of the cup?   There is at least...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I actually wouldn't bother, if it was something that wasn't just caused by trying to get by on the cheapest of all solutions. This is a sticker. The very least they could do is make sure they use a good glue. If it was a single case, i wouldn't be as bothered, but it seams to be at least a whole...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

It's a brand new item, with a rather premium pricetag. It should be spotless when it shows up. Especially with the attention to detail the item is promoted to have been conceived with... B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

My replacement pair should show up early next week. Just got word the RMA went through, so provided they got some on the shelf... Now i just have to hope it's a pair without the sticker defects. Oh, and btw. When i packed mine for shipping i noticed the same issue, the sticker releasing and...

Bestula, were joking around. You did nothing wrong.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

If the X2 does anything to a good recording, then there is something wrong with the X2. Return it.

Graphite, Teflon, some paraffin lubricants. The list is so long it's funny. But i personally wouldn't use anything that gets tacky. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

I bet it can, but i wouldn't. Anything greasy is a magnet for dust and other crap. In the long run being a bigger problem then the creaking that will go away over time. B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

However, if a commodity is sold as used, which i think is the case here, then your out of luck.  Even if it's from a retailer.   But, there is always Phillips. They probably will honor warranties based on proof of purchase & manufacturer date. Either way, it's a shame it took so long to get...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Taking the headphones apart, and replacing the faulty connector isn't an option? B!   Edit At least over here, if a issue is reported within the warranty time, it doesn't actually have to be returned at that point. So, i'd hit the Amazone warehouse for support, and see if they will accept...

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Now that it has been pointed out, i have this sticker lifting issue. It's just tiny but... B!

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

So simply bending the top of the headband slightly so that the headphones get closer together... Well, yeah, that makes sense. Going to hold off on doing that until i have decided if its a return or not. (If the only issue is as it sits now, the lose fit, then i'll be doing it, and keeping...
