Best warm-ish headphone for around the $300 mark?

I haven't messed around much with EQ. Is there any software in particular you might recommend?

I'll do some more digging on the 6XX, thanks for the write-up/suggestion!

Best warm-ish headphone for around the $300 mark?

Budget - 300 is the top end of my budget, I'm open to buying used or refurbished if the deal is good. Source/Amp - Oldac paired with an Audioengine N22. (Before I was using an old receiver for my speakers and headphones and this saved a ton of space) How the gear will be used - Desktop use for...

Rank the Headphones that You Own.

Nothing too fancy but out of what I currently own.   1.) Audio Technica AD700: Lovely mids and highs (though a touch of grain in the highs sometimes) and a very airy soundstage. There is almost zero low end though. Despite this, I love these headphones.   2.) VE Monks+: They're not giant...

Closed Headphone for Gaming/Music under 100?

That looks pretty good, I'll definitely check that out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Closed Headphone for Gaming/Music under 100?

Budget: $85 or so.   Source: PC, powered by Onkyo AVR   Isolation: I'd like some isolation. Doesn't have to be total but tones down the ambient noise.   Preferred type: Full size/over ear.   Tonal balance: I tend to lean towards balanced/neutral but something a little more fun...

    Superlux Express Train

I'm getting a pair of Samson SR950s soon but my only concern is the stock pads might not be the ideal fit for me.   Based on what I've read, even with the added cost of replacement pads they're still a great deal.   Has anyone used those with the HM5 pleathers or hybrid pads?

Interesting about the Fostex replacement. Curious to see how the new one stacks up.

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

Thanks for clarifying; the HE-400s' are looking really interesting to me and might be my next headphone. Is there a big difference between the two Focuspads material-wise?

    NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S

I'm looking on Hifiman's store; are the pads you used the Focuspads or Focuspads-A? Thanks :)

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.

Hey guys, just got the A900Xs and am loving them. Great sound and the fit is pretty good.   I'd like to replace the pads and I've been looking at W5000 pads on ebay. That real leather looks super tempting but has anyone here tried that combo? I wouldn't want to order them unless it was...

    Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread

Thanks for the reply! I'll try the bass boost on the sound card I plan on getting (Creative Soundblaster Z) and see how that goes.

    Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread

Hey guys,   I've been absolutely loving my HD 598s. The only thing I'd like is a little more bass. How well do these respond to equalization? What frequencies for how many dbs should I fiddle with to kick the bass up a notch?   Sorry if that's a broad question but I'm new to actually equalizing.

Are any of you happy with the cable your headphone comes with?

Superlux HD 681 Evo: The stock cable is pretty standard. I do like how it connects to a little cable dongle rather than plugging straight into the headphone. It's a nice safety measure if you trip the cable.   Sennheiser HD 598: The stock cable with the adapter on the end is ridiculous...

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

I replaced the stock pads with the included velour pads and maybe it's just me but do you get a little less bass rumble with the velour pads?

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

So I got the 681 Evo. Liking it so far, eager to see how it sounds once it's burnt in. I'd like to replace the ear pads with the extra velour ones that came with them. What's the best way to remove the current ones and pop the new ones on? Just want to make sure I do it correctly.

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

Hey guys,   So I'm looking to get a budget pair of headphones and one of the Superluxes seems right up my alley. The 681B sounds the best to me but I can't seem to find them online. Amazon just has the Superlux 681 (has the red accents), Superlux 668B, and the black & white models of the 681...

    Best gaming mice

I use the CM Storm Xornet and for a budget mouse it really does the job. A decent selection of DPI choices, some extra buttons and it really conforms to my style of grip. You can't beat it for the price.

    The Playstation 4

I'm rather excited for the PS4. Not only for it's internals and future game catalog but also Sony's attitude to date. It seems they've taken the mistakes of the PS3 (Though I do love that as well) and that generation to heart and are really working to improve.

Looking for a pair of headphones suitable for gaming on a budget (details inside)

Hi guys, I looked through the sidebar before posting here but I was curious if you guys could help me refine my search.   -Budget: 150-200ish max. -Prefer open but closed is good too. -No amp required. -Comfort is important, I'd like to be able to listen to these for long periods...

    Seeking recommendations within this criteria.

That's something I'd definitely be into for the future but for now I'll abstain. I would go the soundcard route (I know there are some cards that come with amplifiers) but the case I'll be building into in a month won't have room for a sound card. (Going small form factor).   Also do any of...

Thank you for the suggestions, those look very nice.   And they run without an amp? Although for the Beyerdynamic I'd want to pick the low ohm version right?
