Alright, that all sounds like it's right. I mostly encounter this with straight-barrel houses, whole trying to gain a good seal.

Why does the sound become inaudible? Like if you push them as deep as possible without puncturing your ear drum, they cant be heard, similar to if it had blown out. Always been curious to know, and didnt feel like doing a complete ear-anatomy study to find out, so im hoping the geniuses here...

How does the ath cks77 compare to the Shure se215 in terms of sub bass pickup and overall clarity?

Well, I've narrowed it down to the Shure SE215 and the Audio-Technica CKS77, even though they're slightly out of my price range. Any thoughts?

Maybe if I didn't cut the cables on them they would sound better, but I guess I won't know.

Well I'm happy to say they changed their mind somehow. I woke up this morning, checked my Gmail and I have a message from Xears saying they will send a new pair anyway.

I would hope not. It doesn't feel like there's anything foreign on my ear. Manufacturer will send out a free new pair but I don't feel like there is a need to send em back.
