V-MODA Zn: Official Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Videos, etc.

Are these seriously worth the money? I'm looking to get a new pair of IEM's and have always heard great things about V-Moda's sound. Currently I'm rocking with some Sennheiser CX150's, and while they get the job done (and have been very reliable over the last 2 years), they leave something to be...

Best Mixing Headphones for $150 or less

I mix mainly rap/hiphop, and need a quality pair of headphones that'll give me accurate representstion of sound. Ive been looking st the ATH-M50 and the SHR440, and while both have their pros snd cons, neither one has seemed to be what i'm looking for (one is too bassy, the other too bright) So...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Have had these for about a month now, and still can't figure out what a good seal is, or how to achieve it.   i'm using the stock foamies as none of the silicone sleeves (yes, not a single one) fit properly. Sound is very inconsitent with me, with sometimes there is moderate bass, and...

Buying portable or in-ear headphones? Seeking guidance? DON'T START A NEW THREAD. Ask for advice HERE!

Etymotic HF5 Or Phonak PFE112 That is the question. I'm a basshead, lemme just gett that out of the way. My favorite pair of IEM's are the Audio Technica CKS-77, with Xears TD4 right behind. But i'm also a music producer. I make mostly hip hop and rap instrumentals but also have made...

When you stick an IEM in deep enough...

Alright, that all sounds like it's right. I mostly encounter this with straight-barrel houses, whole trying to gain a good seal.

When you stick an IEM in deep enough...

Why does the sound become inaudible? Like if you push them as deep as possible without puncturing your ear drum, they cant be heard, similar to if it had blown out. Always been curious to know, and didnt feel like doing a complete ear-anatomy study to find out, so im hoping the geniuses here...

    Ety's vs. Fischer?

Ok, so now i have a bigger issue. After doing some research on what the people in here say, ive changed my options. Now it is between: -hiFiman RE0 -PFE 111 -sunrise Xcape IE -Ety HF5 (er4s appear to have too little bass)

    Ety's vs. Fischer?

Alright. So Etymotic is the way to go. Kinda what i figured but just wanted some extra feedback. I appreciate the quick replies.

    Ety's vs. Fischer?

Well, here's my dilemma. I am a hip-hop producer, i make instrumentals. So headphones are a big deal for me. My problem is that i have 3 pair of bassy iem's (kicker EB141, Xears TD4, ATH-CKS77), and in need of something more along the lines of neutral for mixing and mastering. I dont really want...

How does the ath cks77 compare to the Shure se215 in terms of sub bass pickup and overall clarity?

On the search for Quality IEM's

Well, I've narrowed it down to the Shure SE215 and the Audio-Technica CKS77, even though they're slightly out of my price range. Any thoughts?

    Is this bad?

Maybe if I didn't cut the cables on them they would sound better, but I guess I won't know.

    Is this bad?

Well I'm happy to say they changed their mind somehow. I woke up this morning, checked my Gmail and I have a message from Xears saying they will send a new pair anyway.

On the search for Quality IEM's

Oh alright haha. So it seems so far like the Shure SE215's would be my best bet although I've seen a lot of issues regarding build quality.

On the search for Quality IEM's

Alright, so I looked at the Shure's. Not sure if that's exactly what I'm looking for because I heard it focuses more on bass you hear more than feel, which is the beauty of subs. Gonna look at the Hippo ones. I've heard good things about them.

On the search for Quality IEM's

Looking for some good IEM's at around 80-140 dollars. I listen to predominantly rap and hip-hop so I'm looking for something with good sub bass, and balanced highs & lows, with clear vocals. And also have good isolation too. I enjoyed the Xears TD4 until they screwed me over, so if anybody can...

    Is this bad?

I'll bug them about it tomorrow. Thing is the guy I talked to didnt seem to care that i had already cut the cables. Didnt even acknowledge it in our conversation. Honestly i dont really care. They were $50 bucks, my second set because the first one broke the day i got it. Not too satisfied with...

    Is this bad?

Apparently, because it doesn't affect the sound quality it's not their problem.

    Is this bad?

Well, this is some ********. Emailed the guy who runs the company and explained the situation, and he requires you to send a picture of the faulty headphones with the cables cut before you receive a new pair. Well I did that, only to find out this is not a warranty cause and therefore I can't...

    Is this bad?

I would hope not. It doesn't feel like there's anything foreign on my ear. Manufacturer will send out a free new pair but I don't feel like there is a need to send em back.
