Yeah, it wasn't the one that came with it, which is evidently more robust than the random one I happened to be using at the time.

I didn't leave it plugged in to charge, and just let it sit for a day, and the next evening it turned on. Evidently the moisture inside the unit evaporated. 

Sure. Just plug it in via USB, and plug the headphone jack for the speakers into the the Fiio. You may just have to go into control panel > sound and tell Windows which output to use, but it isn't hard to configure.
