I decided to buy a new cable as it was only $10 and would save a lot of time, but that heat shrink tubing is a great idea! That'll really help keep the cable from bending at the plug, it definitely won't happen again this way, thanks.

Where the cable reaches the end of the plastic cover is weak, audio cuts out in one ear unless I keep it held down, I think that part of the cable has bent too much over time. I thought I'd cut the cable and solder it back onto the plug but I can't remove the plastic cover at all. Any ideas on...

Does anyone use the EQ? If so does your sound become distorted upon every boot or is it just me?

I just started using the R3 a few days ago and I'm having one major problem. The sound is incredibly loud and distorted after every boot and also when it changes to songs of different bitrates. The only fix is to turn the entire EQ down 2 notches, nothing else works. It gets really frustrating...

By flat and neutral is that similar to the newer models like the X3 mk3? because that sounded really flat and cold to me, so little bass, that's what I'm worried about. I'm using iBasso IT01 iems.

Ok I've done a lot of research on the Plenue D, AK Jr, AK70, Cayin i5 and N5ii - I think I'm leaning towards the PD, i5 or N5ii. The i5 and N5ii are way above my budget but it seems worthy as I've heard a lot of good things about the bass. What would you guys recommend out of the PD, i5 and N5ii?

The A46 looks like what I'm after, still not quite sure about the bass though. Wouldn't be more than $300 or so. The Calyx is definitely above my budget.
