    iBasso it01 cable repair?

I decided to buy a new cable as it was only $10 and would save a lot of time, but that heat shrink tubing is a great idea! That'll really help keep the cable from bending at the plug, it definitely won't happen again this way, thanks.

    iBasso it01 cable repair?

Where the cable reaches the end of the plastic cover is weak, audio cuts out in one ear unless I keep it held down, I think that part of the cable has bent too much over time. I thought I'd cut the cable and solder it back onto the plug but I can't remove the plastic cover at all. Any ideas on...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

Does anyone use the EQ? If so does your sound become distorted upon every boot or is it just me?

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I just started using the R3 a few days ago and I'm having one major problem. The sound is incredibly loud and distorted after every boot and also when it changes to songs of different bitrates. The only fix is to turn the entire EQ down 2 notches, nothing else works. It gets really frustrating...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

I've searched this thread for Hidiz AP200 comparisons but there's barely any so I thought I'd ask if anyone can share their views if they've used both. I'm specifically looking for a warmer, bassier DAP, not too neutral. I've read the AP200 is supposed to be better overall but the R3 sounds...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

By flat and neutral is that similar to the newer models like the X3 mk3? because that sounded really flat and cold to me, so little bass, that's what I'm worried about. I'm using iBasso IT01 iems.

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

How does this sound compared to the X3 mk1 or Xduoo X3ii? Does it sound as warm and bassy as the X3 mk1? I'm considering the Xduoo or the M6 but it all depends on the warmth.

Similar upgrade from FiiO X3 mk1?

I don't mind spending a little more, I just want something that sounds as warm and bassy as the X3 mk1 but after the mk3 it made me realise maybe this type of sound isn't common anymore so I don't know where to begin. I was looking at the X7 as I heard that was similar, what do you think? I...

Similar upgrade from FiiO X3 mk1?

I've been using the FiiO X3 mk1 for years, upgraded to the mk3 but hated the lack of bass and warmth so had to go back to my old mk1. I've had an accident and squished it (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/repairing-fiio-x3-mk1-screen-case-jack.896154/) so asked FiiO for some replacement parts but...

Repairing FiiO X3 mk1 (screen, case, jack)

I had a nasty cycling accident (riding in wet, bad idea) and damaged my X3 in the tumble, but like me we're both still working on the inside. The metal case did a good job of protecting the vital components. I can still see the bottom corner of the screen and can navigate, sound still works...

    Bass heavy DAP recommendations?

Ok I've done a lot of research on the Plenue D, AK Jr, AK70, Cayin i5 and N5ii - I think I'm leaning towards the PD, i5 or N5ii. The i5 and N5ii are way above my budget but it seems worthy as I've heard a lot of good things about the bass. What would you guys recommend out of the PD, i5 and N5ii?

    Bass heavy DAP recommendations?

The A46 looks like what I'm after, still not quite sure about the bass though. Wouldn't be more than $300 or so. The Calyx is definitely above my budget.

    Bass heavy DAP recommendations?

Is the a series the sony NW-A35? If the M2s is lesser than the mk1 I'll probably keep mine.

    Bass heavy DAP recommendations?

Preferably budget but I'm willing to spend a bit more. How does the M2s and Sony A series compare to X3 mk1's bass? That's my primary concern.

    Bass heavy DAP recommendations?

I've been using a FiiO X3 mk1 since 2013, totally love it but thought it's time to move on so I bought the X3iii thinking it'd be a big upgrade. However the bass is extremely lacking compared to the mk1. I've been going back and forth between both for hours, updated the firmware, testing the...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Quote:   Ok I checked out the X1 but I think I'll see how my D2000 goes first, I'm not much of an audiophile so I think it'll be good enough for me, I'm already amazed at how good it is alone on the PS3. Just bought the 2012 astro mixamp as I've heard too many bad things about the 2013...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

awesome, I'll go ahead and buy the Astro mixamp once I've decided which edition I'll get. I'll recoup the cost from selling my Sony Pulse 7.1 headset. Looks like I'll only need one headset for PC, PS3 and drumming (TD-12). You're providing a great service for humanity with this thread.  ...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Mad Lust, great, great thread. I was going to buy the Astro A40 + mixamp for PS3 gaming, but after reading this thread it seems like I should forget the A40 and just buy the mixamp alone as I already own the Denon D2000 which I use just for music on PC, should I go ahead with it? I mainly play...

D2000 on PS3/PC with Astro Mixamp?

I was thinking of buying the Astro A40 for gaming on PS3, currently using Sony Pulse 7.1 but heard the A40s are much better.   My PS3 is connected to Logitech Z5500 via optical. I own the Denon D2000 so I tried plugging those into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Z5500's control pod but it...

DT 770 and M50 alternative? middleground for bass/clarity?

In terms of portability I'd go for the ATH-M50, they're great cans, very flexible and pretty light. The 580 can only rotate each side only a small amount so you can't really put them on your shoulder. I wouldn't recommend the DT770 or Q40 as they can't rotate at all, plus they're both huge, so...

DT 770 and M50 alternative? middleground for bass/clarity?

Wow, how things have changed.. My last post, I was tossing up between the Q40 and HFI-580. I bought the 580, which was disappointing.   Since then, I wasn't even considering the D2000, and now I've suddenly bought the D5000! that's a MASSIVE jump from the HFI-580 (and also a massive chunk of...

DT 770 and M50 alternative? middleground for bass/clarity?

Ok I've concluded that the only way I'm ever going to know which I'll like more is to simply buy BOTH of them. I've just bought a pair of used 580s, now all I need is the Q40. Anyone selling or know of anyone else selling a pair? I've checked ebay but I'd rather buy a cheap used pair as I'm not...

DT 770 and M50 alternative? middleground for bass/clarity?

Ok I did some research on the Q40 but seems like everyone says the M50 is better in every way, so back to square one.   I did more research on the D2000 and it does actually seem pretty good now, but WAY out of my budget! They're around $250usd on Ebay and I don't know where else to buy...

DT 770 and M50 alternative? middleground for bass/clarity?

I'd rather get a set of cans that suit my needs without an amp, I'm already pushing my budget as it is. If the 580s are what I think they are then I'll get them. I might get the E11 if I must, but I'll see how they sound without it first before I look into amps.
