VSONIC V7007 (former "GR08") - Info & expectations thread
Quote: Try Jaben HK. I live in HK, and when I went to look for Vsonic GR07s, Jaben HK were the only shop that carried them. IIRC Mingo had GR04s but no GR07. I wouldn't try Kingsound.- Spaz115

Would you guys recommend these IEMs for someone who has never had anything hi-end before? I'm looking to buy some IEMs as a gift for a friend who has only used Apple earbuds before, and I'm not looking to spend over 1000HKD (125USD). These come in at 700HKD locally, so i was immediately drawn to...- Spaz115

Good pair of 'stay at home' cans.
I personally have the SR80's myself, and they are great cans for use at home. However if portability isn't a factor then I think you should look into full size, open cans as opposed to the SR80s. The reason being the SR80s sit on your ears, which means some might find them uncomfortable after a...- Spaz115

Best budget headphones for a picky person...?
great choice with the SR80s :D i have a pair myself, still unmodded though. If you feel that the stock pads are a little "itchy", you can try the sennheiser HD414 pads... (the yellow ones). They fit the sr80s and IMO are more comfortable than the stock ones.- Spaz115

Hm, yeah, I'm using an aging iPod nano atm. so probably looking to upgrade that soon. Other than Cowon, what other "mainstream" manufacturers make music players that are entirely focused on the SQ of the player...?- Spaz115

Sony EX300's fell apart, MDR-EX600 vs MDR-7550 vs XBA-4?
I have the GR07s and they are great, you won't be disappointed. They are well balanced, with nice bass (not too much), and just overall very balanced. However I am already looking at the MDR-7550 for an improvement.. xD. I'll visit a store tmrw with the MDR-7550, and I can tell you my initial...- Spaz115

IEMs for deployment to Afghanistan?
I use the GR07 and I can definitely recommend it. Its only say, 200 hours in do you really begin to fall in love with them though. I've tried the RE272s as well and they are also great, but they require an amp to sound their best. You have one though so thats fine. If you don't want good...- Spaz115

Looking to buy amp/DAC
Probably a iPod Touch 2nd Gen. Currently I'm using a Nano 3rd Gen since the 3.5mm jack on the Touch is broken, but I aim to fix that through the use of a LOD. I can stretch to something like a PA2V2+E10 if thats better, or even something like a E17. The E17 is defo the highest I can go, and it's...- Spaz115

Hey guys I'm looking for a portable amp + DAC for ~100 USD. I'm wondering for that sort of money should I get a amp+DAC combo such as the E7 or something like a PA2V2 + a cheap DAC?
