    XDuoo X3 DSD 24Bit / 192KHz CS4398 Chip Lossless Music Player

Cool, Rockbox is what I'm planning on doing. My Sansa Clip Zip got fried by a car cigarette lighter charger and my 5.5 gen iPods are both on the fritz, so I'm gonna get the X3 to replace all of those. Thanks.

    XDuoo X3 DSD 24Bit / 192KHz CS4398 Chip Lossless Music Player

Thank you!   What's the latest on the pitch issues with the X3 that I see in early posts on this thread? Have those been fixed? I tried searching the thread but couldn't find a definitive answer.

Anyone up for examining/repairing my Minibox-E+?

I swapped out the stock opamps on my Minibox-E+ a while back and must have done something incorrectly at the time. Quoting from an earlier post by me: Quote: Originally Posted by macfly I finally got a chance to stop by my dad's to get some soldering assistance. Got the stock AD's...

Three Stones MiniBox-E+ - Review of a Humble Sleeper (LOTS of PICs)

Hi morfic, FYI I reseated the opamps, but no luck fixing the issue. I don't have a macro lens, so these are the best shots I could come up with. Let me know if a photo from a different angle would be helpful:

Three Stones MiniBox-E+ - Review of a Humble Sleeper (LOTS of PICs)

I finally got a chance to stop by my dad's to get some soldering assistance. Got the stock AD's out of there and soldered in the new adapters, then seated the LME49710s into the sockets. I thought we did pretty well, but something must have gone wrong, because now the Minibox outputs sound on...

Three Stones MiniBox-E+ - Review of a Humble Sleeper (LOTS of PICs)

I actually did order the LME opamps in DIP8 style. Just to make sure I have this correct before I go and remove the stock AD8610 -- dfkt, looking at your photo, the next step would be to remove the DIP8 adapter in your Minibox and simply plug in the LME to the board itself, correct? I'll...

Three Stones MiniBox-E+ - Review of a Humble Sleeper (LOTS of PICs)

Just ordered myself a couple LME49710's from Digikey. I'm brand new to opamp rolling. Where can I get a few gold-plated 8 pin DIP sockets within the US? Searched eBay...all of the sellers who are selling 10 or less sockets are overseas, and I don't want to wait that long for shipping. Apologies...

Three Stones MiniBox-E+ - Review of a Humble Sleeper (LOTS of PICs)

Been enjoying my newly acquired Minibox-E+ for the past week with my ER-4P, Sennheiser HD580, and Grado SR-325 (the older black ones). One thing I've noticed is that it especially excels at bringing forth the lush tones and subtle decay of recordings with piano. I seem to recall reading...

ooheadsoo: i've gone to two NAMM shows -- winter '98 and winter '00. when i went, i was primarily interested in DJ equipment and drums. i hadn't yet been hit with the hi-fi headphone fetish. best advice -- bring your most comfortable walking shoes, because you're gonna be using 'em...
