Audio Technica M50 vs Denon D2000

I am all about impact on my headphones I know I would love having the D2000s way more. What ended up happening to that $150 pair?

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

Ya, I almost bought some used D2000's used off this site, they seem to be just an awesome pair to have for so many reasons, but I haven't heard them. That is #1 on my wanted list. Well have you ever heard the M-100's? From what I heard they have a little bit more mid bass, but still strong sub...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

I get what you are saying, ya I guess I can't say I have been like yes, I see the clear differences between all of these headphones' mids and highs. The DT-880 and HE-400 I will say had similar treble, I wouldn't know how to describe the difference now, without them next to me, because it wasn't...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

That is exactly where I am at, aside from the neutrality. But I need that warm dark, with emphasized bass. Mostly because my ears are very sensitive to the high frequencies. What headphones do you enjoy the most?    And I find that interesting that you enjoyed the neutral sound, before looking...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

I payed $100, but soon after they were on sale for $80, then off and on between the two prices. And yea, I guess that is the easiest spot to hear high quality sound. At least easier than mids and highs.

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

I can't quite say so. I listen to a lot of metal music, which really fills the lows, mids, and highs constantly and fully. So it is easy to pick out what is lacking as far as mids or highs, as well as seperate them in my head.    Edit: Sorry you meant those two pairs specifically? Thought you...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

That is great haha. I never have a friend rushing in to put my headphones on let alone quiet me down to listen!   They be all like  And I am like

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

First off, I don't remember the exact beats he has or the ones that I heard. Most likely the ones I heard were the studio, off of memory. The ones he has I really am not sure of.    About that quote though, you are most definitely not alone. The only headphones I ever put on and immediately...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

Ya haha that might be it. But yes, he has a lot of pride and just can't be wrong. But hey I feel the same way about myself too. But there are times where we know we are right, and one of those times is when Beats are brought up. I have read a lot of stories too about people not liking audiophile...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

I have a friend who didn't even listen to any headphones yet aside from his beats that his girlfriend bought him, and defends that brand against anything I say. It is awesome to read some of the stories of the successful stories of showing friends high end headphones, I have experienced both...

Is it just me, or is Head-Fi reallly slow?

Correct thread title but this is an interesting and slightly unrelated problem I am having:   Is anyone else experiencing, or know why only the home page of head-fi.org, and my profile page take about 10 seconds to load? Everything else on the site loads instantly, so clicking "Forums" at the...

Headphones you regretted buying the most

For me has to be the HifiMAN HE-400's. Some might find that shocking after everything I have read, but I stepped into the world of open headphones, and started big. I stepped into the wrong world for my music taste. Closed headphones for me!

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

Ya definitely, thanks. I think after this post:   http://www.head-fi.org/t/666446/he-400-have-let-me-down-what-happened     I learned more than I ever could about my specific taste of headphones it seems. We seemed to sort of break it down over 150 posts haha. The one thing I'll quote...

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

That is what i have learned, you have to try them. I started with my sennheiser HD-280's, and loved them. Got my DT-770's not knowing how I wouldn't like the sound. Stopped using them, got the HE-400's. Didn't like them and sold them. FINALLY got these and am satisfied. You should see my other...

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

Yea, I definitely have considered the DT-990's. I mentioned them in my original post . Plus on top of that, I think that Beyer-Dynamic are by a long shot the most comfortable thing I ever put on my head (I own the DT-770's, but only put them on for comfort once my M-100's have made my ears...

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

That would be a fun thing to do considering I have never modded headphones, maybe they can be my next pair. This solution for the big pads will be everything I will need for a long time though. I definitely don't like the sound of them missing the umph that the M-100s have. I have been searching...

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

Well I already purchased some, just straight off of the V-moda site. According to them they are "30% bigger in diameter, 2x deeper, and 55% larger volume space." I am pretty excited to see how much they will help, trust me these stock pads feel like rocks compared to my Beyers, I don't know who...

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

Ya, I do see a lot of recommendations for those D600's. I might either go with the XL pads, or try some new headphones. I think I might have to go for the XL pads, as much as I like new stuff. I cannot believe I forgot about those. Thank you so much for reminding me.    Also I am curious, do...

What would you compare to the V-Moda M-100?

So a long time ago this community did a fantastic job helping me narrow down my choices to the headphone I wanted to buy. In the past I got headphones that did not match my sound signature (DT-880 and also HE-400), they were not colored enough for me. Everyone gave some really accurate...

Trying to narrow X-Mas list (DT880 vs. HE400 vs. HD650)

I personally have not gotten a chance to hear the 990s but I will agree they have been said to be bright, and the 880's are from experience. I believe at one point this came up a while back about toning it down with an an amp/dac and there are certain ones that will do that, but I cannot recall...

HE-400 have let me down, what happened?

Ya that makes sense. Don't worry I was going to order em either way, a slight change in sound is WELL worth getting rid of the pain I actually have to deal with when listening to those things for any amount of time. I do have to say, the compact design is impressive considering they do get fully...

Trying to narrow X-Mas list (DT880 vs. HE400 vs. HD650)

I have owned two out of the three headphones listed. I have briefly heard the 650s a while ago but cannot really comment on them aside from comfort (very close to DT-880 but i think Beyer has the comfiest headphones ever, great build quality too). HE-400s like Whitetriton said, can be incredibly...

HE-400 have let me down, what happened?

Oh thanks for the recommendation I will probably look into those pads haha. Would you know anything about if the other pads effect the sound in any way? Ya great headphones overall.
