The 1A drives my Focal Clears quite nicely. When I want time with the Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2s then I hook it up to the SMSL SP200 THX AAA 888. For portable use I bring the portable Monolith THX or I switch to the RHA CL2s.

The Sony WM1A and 1Z don’t run streaming apps. They do have BT receiver mode, I connect a G Note 10 (LDAC) to my Sony WM1A and I also find the RHA CL2s to pair beautifully with the WM1A.

I run the CL2s as follows, Via the included RHA BT cable to my Hiby R3, G Note 9 or the WM1A. Via 4.4mm terminated custom copper cable to the WM1A plus/minus the Monoprice THX AAA amp. I have the Mojo, haven’t paired it yet so can’t comment.

I got mine roughly 28 days after you reviewed the DM6. They sound great, are super comfortable to wear, and I love em.

I have both. Initially I liked the DM7 tuning better, but after weeks of A-Bing I still like the DM6 better. No QC or sibilance with either unit.

I use either a Galaxy Note 9 or the Google Pixel 3. Both have LDAC. I think the well reviewed Pixel 3A has LDAC as well, and a killer camera. Also we are maybe 2 weeks from the Galaxy Note 10 being announced, you should be able to get a G Note 9 at a good price once it’s announced

In balanced the soundstage is good, but gets better, to my ears, with an amp. You get great detail and separation, but when I want to be immersed I use the Monoprice THX portable amp with the 1A.

The Focal Clears, the Sendy Aivas and the HD-600s are all driven beautifully by the WM1A

The stock 3.5mm, which I’ve never used, reportedly causes what you experienced. I have a custom Copper cable terminated in 4.4mm for the Sony WM1A. No such mid weirdness. You might want to try another cable when you go back to trial them with the Hugo 2
