Experience with Malvalve Headamp three
Hi, I came across a German headphone amp at the German CanJam. It is the Malvalve Headamp three. What makes it special: it is both suitable for electrostats (Stax) and dynamic headphones. Would be a great device to clean up my gear. I am currently using a Stax SRM-007t for my Stax SR-007...- andiide

Beyerdynamic T50p vs. T70p vs. T5p
Interesting question. Unfortunately I did not try it. I ended up with the T5P and sold the other two so no chance to test it now.- andiide

DAC recommendation for Liquid Fire/LCD-3 and Stax SRM-007t/SR-007Mk1
Hi, I am currently upgrading my rig, moving from a Meier Corda Opera (which I use as DAC and amp) to a Cavalli Audio Liquid Fire. So I am losing the DAC component of my setup and could use some advice on a suitable DAC. The DAC would be connected both to the Liquid Fire and the Stax...- andiide

Stax Interview and Factory tour 12/12/12
Thanks for the article, great stuff. It puts faces to a legendary company and makes my Omega even more special - created by such a tiny group of people. Unbelievable that a small company like this could achieve such perfection!- andiide

Beyerdynamic T50p vs. T70p vs. T5p
I only tested the DT1350 in a shop. I liked the sound of the T50p a little bit better and did not like the split headband construction of the DT1350. The 50p seemed to fit better and tighter on my head.- andiide

Beyerdynamic T50p vs. T70p vs. T5p
I owned the Beyerdynamic T50p for a while and liked the sound a lot. The difference to my full size headphones (Denon LA7000 and Stax 404) however was still quite substantial. Over the last few days I had the opportunity to compare my phones to two other portable Beyerdynamics, the T70p and the...- andiide

Recommend me Jazz
As a Bach fan, try Jacques Loussier - Play Bach. Start with volume 1. You will recognise the music but hear it in a very new way. -

Which portable headphone has reference class/hi-fi sound quality?
The Beyerdynamic T1 and T5 obviously are quite large. Another option might be the T50p, smaller and more portable. Compare it to the DT1350, I actually prefer them- andiide

Dave, not sure what you currently listen to. But if you are into classical music, maybe try Jacques Loussier - Play Bach. He takes classical Bach pieces and turns them into Jazz. Fun to listen to and easy to get into. -

Probably worth trying a couple of newer artists to see how they interpret Jazz in a modern way. I currently listen to Joshua Redman - Freedom in the Groove Or one of the most innovative Piano trios during the last couple of years, EST, Esbjörn Svensson Trio -
