[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Have not been around Headfi much (too big of a temptation to buy new stuff). I actually ended up buying the AKG 702 annie which I have now been using since the end of August and it hits every check box for me, easily my favorite headphone I have ever owned. Now I don't remember the X1...- Sarith

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Quote: Quote: While I did not do it very often I can confirm this. When I used the T1 with the Mixamp I had the volume at 12 o clock and the game/chat at 1:00 ish. The Mixamp was able to get the T1 more than loud enough but like MLE said it was less than ideal. I have the 5.1 Mixamp...- Sarith

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
So I received my X1 on Friday and I thought I would give a quick impression. First things first; the X1 sounds amazing and I feel the reviews are pretty spot on. The bass is unbelievable for an open headphone and it definitely makes listening to music, games and movies a complete joy. My only...- Sarith

I just want to say thanks to everyone who has posted info of the X1 in this thread and head-fi in general. You guys really helped me settle on the X1 as my next headphone purchase. Placing an order for an X1 right away.- Sarith

What are your favorite indie games?
I find Kerbal Space Program to be very impressive. Have not played it personally but Watching Youtube videos is very entertaining. Also have to agree with bastion, I love the idea of having the game narrated as you play.- Sarith

AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
Quote: Thank you for your impressions. I am in fact getting rid of my T1 and D7000 for a mid-fi headphone so its nice to know I might be OK . Going to try out the X1 first as the price is more appealing but the Annie is defiantly my next headphone if the X1 doesn't work out.- Sarith

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
I have no intention of spending much on a cable but for $10 it seems worth it to myself. I was hoping there may be a 1/4" cable so I could avoid adapters. Assuming no affordable cable exists that is decent; does anyone have any experience with the Monoprice adapters? ...- Sarith

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Quote: I hope that you are in fact right but unfortunately it appears that the majority do think there is a difference between the stock and different cables. I wish that the stock cable was good and there is no need to upgrade as that would save me having to hunt down a 1/4" adapter. I...- Sarith

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Quote: I would also be interested if there are any such cables worth pursuing. Based on this thread it seems most have gone with 3.5mm cables. I would imagine there is a reason for this.- Sarith

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Thanks. I believe the T1 pads are very similar in size to the 880, not the same pads but close. The T1 would be perfect if they were a tad higher so I'm really trying not to get a headphone that is smaller than that. I was able to adjust the T1 so my ears just avoid the driver. Had a similar...- Sarith

[New] Philips Fidelio X1
Would someone mind measuring the inside of the pads and tell me the diameter and depth? I have large ears and I am trying to compare to Beyer T1. I am very close to picking up an X1 but I really would not want to go anything smaller the the T1 pads. Very quick measurement was T1 is approximately...- Sarith

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
I live in a weird part of Canada. Weather constantly changes, can go from warm to snow to warm again in the span of an hour. We get a weather phenomenon that as far as I know doesn't occur any where else in the world (called a Chinook Wind). It has snowed in every month of the year and...- Sarith

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
Quote: Well funny you ask. I'm thinking of downsizing from a Beyer T1 and Denon AH-D7000 to either an Annie or the X1. I'm leaning towards the Annie. I am also using a mixamp so I would need an amp for that. I was brain storming if you will, if bypassing the STX to an external DAC and AMP...- Sarith

AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
Quote: I have thought about the HD650. It seems like a great piece of equipment and to be honest if I was more into Music than I currently am I probably would go that route . With my current interests it seems like (based on other threads) the Annie and X1 are the ways to go. Also saw...- Sarith

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)
Sorry I'm sure this was answered earlier: Is the Asus Xonar STX able to output Dolby headphone via Optical Out? I know other models can, I just wanna double check. Thanks for your time.- Sarith

AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
Thanks for the responses. The Annies sound awesome. I'm torn between them and the Philips X1 at this point. X1 wins if I need that extra bass but if I don't the Annie seems a little more appealing. I am sure the STX would suffice but I'm wondering if getting a separate DAC + AMP would be...- Sarith

AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
Hello everyone; new poster, long time lurker. I currently own a Beyer T1 and recently I have been finding myself not listening to music as much and instead spending most of my time gaming or movies. I cant justify keeping the T1's for my uses and instead am thinking of a downgrade to an Annie...- Sarith
