    AKG K812 Pro

Well, the K812 Pro have 30+ hours on them and are singing sweetly. Is there an AKG forum, or a site where the AKG story is narrated? I started with the Q701 and found it a bit cranky, although exceptional at some things. I later bought the K712 Pro which I thought was remarkable in a...

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

Helpful stuff, @Me x3 . I have done some of that. I shall listen to the offending CDs (in this case) later and see what happens. The sound is changing slightly, and I, of course, am changing with it. I shall try it with other equipment if the problem persists. Thank you so much for replying...

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

Well, the big beast arrived today. The sound was a little brittle at first, in no way resembling the K712 and there was a persistent distortion in the right channel on lower notes. I have left them listening to music for a while. I have also played some loud music through them to see if...

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

Pulled the trigger on the AKG K812 Pro yesterday. It should arrive tomorrow. I have been increasingly enjoying my K712 Pro headphones and have been trying the “You don’t need to buy the K812. You are so happy with these...” argument. Much thread reading. Many contradictory opinions. Tomorrow I...

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

Thanks so much. As I say, my Slovakian K712 Pro was/is excellent, so thanks for the confirmation.

    AKG K812 Pro, underrated?

It's been a while since this thread has shown sign of life, but I would like to ask a question. I am getting more and more fond of my K712 Pro headphones and am thinking of pulling the trigger on the K812, the price on Amazon.co.uk having come down quite a lot. Does anyone have experience of the...

The AKG K712 Pro Support and Impressions Thread

Despite having the HD800 and a bunch of Grados, the K712 Pro is becoming my go-to headphone at the moment, partly because of the hot weather (comfort) and partly because I find the sound increasingly satisfying. How do they compare to the K812? I have a slight case of upgraditis.

I have a nice new (to me) LP12 to keep me sane in the study. Grados and the AKG 712 Pro sound fine through the Audiolab 8000A, surprisingly.

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

I wish to pronounce an edict... that headphones are, henceforth, to be known as headnophes... what a wonderful word. Thank you! Current Grado collection: SR60, RS1weird, PS500, GH1. For your info. Like you, I aspire to higher things, but are there higher things? May the Grado be with you!

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

Grados? Well... I listened using the SR60, which became the best headphone in my collection, until I tried the PS500, which became the best headphone in my collection, until I tried the GH1, which has become the best headphone in my collection... Grado magic.

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

@UELong @miketlse Well the Hugo 2 arrived today. Compared to the Hugo, it is night and day. A bit aggressive at first, but the revelation of details is amazing. The headphone amp is way better than in the Hugo. The whole effect is so musical. Thank you for your comments. I am late to the party...

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

@miketlse @UELong I am sort of familiar with Chord products. I bought the Hugo and it travels between the UK and France. Here, it is plugged in to a MacBook Pro and goes out (at the moment) via Chord Company Shawline interconnect to a Schiit Lyr. Works beautifully. In France it improves on the...

I'm still hesitating. I have spent a couple of hours basking in the sound of the original Hugo... glorious.

    Grado Fan Club!

Strange evening. I listened to a hi-res download of Cypress Avenue (Van Morrison) on all the headphones to hand. Senn HD800, PS500, GH1 with bowls, AKG 702 professional, SR-60, GH1 with L cush, PS500 (again), back to the HD800 (where is the bass?). 13" Macbook Pro, Chord Hugo, Schiit Lyr 1...

    Chord Hugo

Too much ££££! Also I do transport the Hugo between two setups... although if I keep the original, that may cease. Of interest is the greater alleged competence of the 2 as a headphone amp, as well as any general improvement in performance.

Can you characterize the differences between the Hugo and Hugo 2? I’m considering the upgrade. My use will be entirely desktop.

    Grado RS1e matters (and impressions)

@ruthieandjohn is the man when it comes to this sort of information! This is very helpful, particularly for people like me who ordered an RS1i and got something... very different. I haven't sold my 'Frankenstein' because I don't want to pass on my disappointment to an innocent bystander, but I...
