Despite having the HD800 and a bunch of Grados, the K712 Pro is becoming my go-to headphone at the moment, partly because of the hot weather (comfort) and partly because I find the sound increasingly satisfying. How do they compare to the K812? I have a slight case of upgraditis.

I have a nice new (to me) LP12 to keep me sane in the study. Grados and the AKG 712 Pro sound fine through the Audiolab 8000A, surprisingly.

I wish to pronounce an edict... that headphones are, henceforth, to be known as headnophes... what a wonderful word. Thank you! Current Grado collection: SR60, RS1weird, PS500, GH1. For your info. Like you, I aspire to higher things, but are there higher things? May the Grado be with you!

Grados? Well... I listened using the SR60, which became the best headphone in my collection, until I tried the PS500, which became the best headphone in my collection, until I tried the GH1, which has become the best headphone in my collection... Grado magic.

@UELong @miketlse Well the Hugo 2 arrived today. Compared to the Hugo, it is night and day. A bit aggressive at first, but the revelation of details is amazing. The headphone amp is way better than in the Hugo. The whole effect is so musical. Thank you for your comments. I am late to the party...

Too much ££££! Also I do transport the Hugo between two setups... although if I keep the original, that may cease. Of interest is the greater alleged competence of the 2 as a headphone amp, as well as any general improvement in performance.

Can you characterize the differences between the Hugo and Hugo 2? I’m considering the upgrade. My use will be entirely desktop.
