This is Crator, a supergroup with Jason and John from Origin, but they posted the video on Origin's facebook.

Tech-deathheads, a supergroup with Colin Marston, John Longstreth and Jason Keyser just released their first song. AUDIBLE BASS GUITAR. Sounds pretty ******* sick, though the production has an odd reverb to it.   https://www.facebook.com/Origin/videos/10154058464239037/

Can't wait for that new Saor record. It's interesting to hear a record without Austin Lunn's drumming. I kinda like the change to more straightforward beats; let's the song breathe a little more.   Here's a crushing, esoteric one for you guys, the new Thy Catafalque album is streaming in its...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

I actually have a question about this.   These JH13 demos came with silicone and foam eartips. Changing these tips changes the sound pretty substantially. The foam tips tame the highs quite a bit and warm the signature up a bit, whereas the silicone make the highs a bit sibilant and takes some...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Thanks!   I've been speaking with AJ from Alclair and we started talking about the Spire, their new 6-driver.   Shot-in-the-dark:you haven't gotten a chance to listen to these, have you? They're supposedly a reference headphone with a bit of a bump in the low and high end, which sounds like...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Hello |joker|!   I'm looking at my first CIEM, around ~$500. I've fallen in love with the clarity of my Brainwavz B2's, but also the fun of my Vsonic GR07's. Ergo, I value clarity across the spectrum with a mild v-shape for a bit of excitement. Reading through your CIEM reviews, it seems like...

If you guys enjoyed the new Abigor, these guys are a blast. Totally unexpected, found through autothrall's wonderful reviews. Fantastic guitar playing with angular riffs and malevolent harmonies. Very technical, but still very black metal, like the new Abigor. 78 minutes, but it NEVER gets old...

Seriously, I'm enjoying this record way more than their debut. A lot more exciting and interesting sections in general at first listen. "Earthborn Evolution" (the song) epitomizes everything I love about the band.   I also downloaded it from the interwebs, but that's also because I...

    Lets Talk Metal

I'm going to the same concert when they come to Oakland! I'm coming to see Carach Angren, Inquisition and SepticFlesh; skipping AD and Deicide, mainly because I don't really listen to either. Abysmal Dawn seems like bland generic technical death metal and Deicide I'm simply not familiar with.  ...

    Lets Talk Metal

Haha, atmospheric black metal is a niche where only truly dazzling stars can shine. And yeah, it was really disappointing that we lost LA. I remember when I first joined, there was a member of this thread that had Andacht as his avatar; I remember he was quite the LA fan!     Yep. The...

I remember being 17 and listening to this on a long plane ride. Definitely one of the more unique aural experiences I had. My mind was also blown when I learned this guy was from Lunar Aurora, too! This, along with Darkspace was my first foray into expansive, trancelike BM.

Found this new band via MA. Melodic death/thrash with some awesome leads and harmonies. Reminds me a bit of a pissed off/amped up Insomnium or Be'lakor.

    Lets Talk Metal

I've heard tidbits, and I've loved what I heard so far. Very razor-sharp, tight and dark stuff. I'm glad that it doesn't seem as weird as their most recent iterations have been.    I e-mailed them to see if I could get a download code, and worse comes to worse, I'll just put my pirate cap on...

Apparently my order along with others whose were shipped on August 5th all got lost in the USPS system. I talked with Avantgarde music about this and they said if I haven't received it by Friday, they're sending me a new copy.   A little unfortunate, but I appreciate their transparency. I'm...

MF is actually quite the metalhead! She has quite a bit of experience with the high-end, too.

New Anaal Nathrakh!     The chorus actually reminds me of... .... .... Soilwork...? Anyway, I liked the little industrial bits. Otherwise, typical AN.

This was excellent. Usually black/death has one genre being predominant, but this was pretty much a seamless blend of the two. Very evil, to boot! Thanks!   One album I think that was overlooked (I've mentioned them before, though) was this black metal gem:

One of my top post-metal bands, Amia Venera Landscape, has just posted a new song. Very stoked for their revival. Just epic, melodic soundscapes.

Another new "Dark Fortress" track from their upcoming "Venereal Dawn":   http://newnoisemagazine.com/exclusive-song-stream-dark-fortress-chrysalis/   Man, this band just can't disappoint. Reminds me a bit of "Sycamore Trees" off of Ylem; has a bit of creepiness to it, and it's a bit low-key...

Also, I am so psyched for this Spectral Lore/Nachtreich split:     If nothing else, the bits from 3:20-7:17 are whats got me hyped. True intersection of black metal and classical elements. I always love it when a band (or bands, in this case) do it right.

I think Fotis Bernardo from Septicflesh might be an underappreciated drummer. Look how stupid tight andintricate he is live! Flawless performance.   This was at the concert I was at, too!
