Present for a Bose in-ear owner

Bumping the thread. I've searched for the Senn CX 500 or 550 but both seem difficult to find around this part of the globe (let alone version II).   I've read very good reviews on the Shure SE215: thoughts? Are the Special Edition (7-10 bucks pricier) worth it?

They seem to be affordable and well reviewed, plus, Senn. Thank you rubinstein. Any other suggestions, guys? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Are you talking about the ATH-M50? Thanks for the recommendation, but I am looking for *in-ear* earphones.

Present for a Bose in-ear owner

Greetings Head-Fi,   Christmas is coming and I was thinking about buying a pair of earphones for my gf. She fancies the sound of my HD-25 II and V-Moda M-100, but she kept on saying how she misses her broken Bose (I am sorry, I have no idea about the model but I think they came at around $80)...

My first set of "good" headphones, player... and portable amp?

Then I guess I am crazy? My ears spoke for me, I guess.   DarkSleip, thanks for the info. The Senns pump out quite well straight from the Nano, but find that it drains my battery perhaps a little too fast. Will the amp help?

My first set of "good" headphones, player... and portable amp?

Thanks a lot, guys. In the end... I gave in to the HD 25-1 II. I spent three hours inside E-earphone, tried the beyer DT1350, the Phiaton MS400, the AKG K181DJ... but simply none of them are as aggressive as the Senns. Iron Maiden packed a punch and convinced me, in spite of the rugged look.

My first set of "good" headphones, player... and portable amp?

Quote: I tried them on at a shop and they have leather earpads... I'm afraid I need the isolation. But I'll give her another shot next time I pass by the earphone store in Akihabara, thanks :)

My first set of "good" headphones, player... and portable amp?

Quote: Thanks soundstige, of course it helps a lot and your confirmations tell me that I did my homework after all :) I knew someone would surely recommend the HD 25-1... the thing is, I don't like their design and their build much and, although I agree that the sound rocks, I find them...

Please forgive me if I break any rules, but is it allowed to *bump* once in a while?

My first set of "good" headphones, player... and portable amp?

Hello, I'm new here, although I've been lurking for a while. I'm an expat living in Tokyo and for my birthday I was thinking about buying a pair of good headphones and a new audio player (instead of my 1GB 3rd gen iPod Shuffle), only... my birthday was in November and despite 3 visits at a good...
