Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Actually I had the 5x before I upgraded to the 8x, so I'm pretty sure that Mitch will be able to help! :) Excited that many others are getting the 8x as well! Will get mine back from reshelling soon!

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

@redaxis I think the mids are just nice the way they are. I would say they are slightly forward, but it's not so forward til it sticks out among the other frequencies. For warmth and thickness, I think it varies and is dependent on the track. I heard some vocal tracks with them and the voices...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

My configuration is 2 dual lows, 1 dual mids, 1 high and 1 super high, the high and super high is being channeled into the TWFK. And I asked Mitch to actually custom tune mine to a specific Frequency response, which is supposed to be the flattest possible for IEMs and also to prevent phasing out...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

After abt 1 mth plus with my 8x, I'm really starting to like the sound of the 8x! Though I mentioned that it was previously bass light, now the bass has opened up abit and it's just nice. It really is a neutral IEM. And the 8x is very good with EQ, added a little more bass on my E17 and the...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Update on the 8x, the bass has opened up as they are very proficient and true to the track based on my ears But I think I might have a fit issue, cause my ears hurt after wearing them for too long... So I will need a re-fit.., :(

I thought you could hear better details and more accuracy, as for the size of the sound stage, I can't say so as of yet, cause I'm still getting used to the sound

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

I got my 8x and heard it for a few hours, they are definitely neutral, or some would say bass-light, but I really am liking the details I am hearing, the four sound bores really allows all the sound to come together nicely. I'm getting a lot of clarify that I didn't hear in the 5x. Just needing...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Hmmm, for bass quantity.... I think the 5x gives you a lot better bass quantity with it's 3 low drivers, it really give you a lot of bass, but yet it sounds tight and not muddy.   One additional factor is also that it's a custom, which also means that bass response is further better than...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Hahhs, I would say that the 5x is a very very good buy. Comfort wise, I'd have to say that your impressions are very very important. I managed to get a very good audiologist over here is Singapore so the fit of the 5x is sweet.   Also, the 5x is pretty easy to drive, am usually playing it...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Hahhs, actually the 5x is the first CIEM that I own. I have a Klipsch Custom 3 and a TF10 as well. And honestly, the 5x is really the best sounding among what I have at the moment. Might get other CIEMs in the future, but not anytime soon, haha.   For pics... I got them in clear and clear...

Loving my 5x, heard the JH16 prior to buying them as I read from Joe's review that they sounded a little bit like the JH16s and I must say... they do! Just waiting for them to burn in even more!
