About one week, and I already love them A big notch above the super.fi 5 Pro. I prefer them to the Sennheiser IE8, but not by a whole lot. They both are transparant and pack some punch, but the Triple.Fi has the edge on treble and excitement.

Great review, but I didn't like my UM2 at all.

About the tips, this is the first IEM that has a wider speaker 'exit', so you need to make sure it doens't get blocked halfway. Otherwise you'll get a dull sounding IEM. Foamies like Comply don't work for me, as they already have a smaller exit compared to the IE8. So the only ones that do work...

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of Sennheiser either. I have the CX400II, and auditioned serveral headphones of the brand, and they are indeed dull sounding. But the IE8, that's a whole other thing Very transparant and clean sound actually.

Hmm, I have to say the Westone UM2. The cable was itchy and stiff, and the sound was just dull. The Shure E5C is in the same league, just plain boring. Now the super.fi 5 Pro on the other hand, was the biggest surprise. Exciting, transparant and lively sound. Still to date the best I've ever heard.

super.fi 5 Pro beats the UM2 in terms of comfort and SQ. Haven't heard the Shure 420, but I wasn't a big fan of Shure in the past (E2 and E5). I love the super.fi cable, its sturdy, great build quality and a lovable memory wire. To my ears, the UM2 sounds laidback, warm and muddy. The 5 pro...

I like the stiff cable of the super.fi, and the memory wire is something I wish all IEMs had. It doesn't lose its 'memory' when I put the earphones in the metal box, it fits tight but that's OK.

Definately super.fi over the UM2.

I also flipped my super.fi's, but without replacing left with right cables. Just twist the memorywire the other way round and you can place the IEM with the UE-logo facing your ear.

I use mine with the iAudio U3, combined with the EQ (vocal setting) and it sounds absolutely amazing, transparant and detailed.

I also didn't like the UM2, but I don't agree on the rolled off highs. I thought they had some sparkle and they were quite extended imo. But the mids, oh my god, these are recessed and that's a big understatement. Bass is boomy, thick and it just blurs everything else. They did sound like the E5...
