    HeadPhone Amp ?

Interesting, noted. My DT990s are 250ohm so I'm guessing they'll be a serviceable mate for this Valhalla 2. If it's not a match made in heaven I'm O.K. with that. I've had them a good long time and am not married to them. My goal is just to have a reasonable first tube amp experience and I'm...

    HeadPhone Amp ?

Hey thanks so much. Your input is valued and I was feeling terribly claustrophobic so that verification that I'm on the right path made me feel a lot better. I did order the Modi2 Uber, however I ordered the Valhalla 2 because it seemed like a natural way of following your suggestion to the next...

    HeadPhone Amp ?

I'm reading your responses here because I have a set of DT990 Pro 250s and my Fiio E9 I was using broke. Would you recommend the Schiit Vali2 in general? Or were you suggesting it only for a 35ohm application? Music is too quiet when I plug straight into a smartphone or laptop so I just need...

Need help connecting E9 amp to my sound card via 3.5mm: Mono, or Stereo? Quick answer appreciated!

I was too impatient so I drove back to radio shack and exchanged for stereo- problem solved :)   Life is good again.

Need help connecting E9 amp to my sound card via 3.5mm: Mono, or Stereo? Quick answer appreciated!

Received my E9 amp today, go to connect it to my sound card only to find the male to male 3.5mm cord is not included. Drive to radioshack, purchase 3.5mm (mono), drive home and connect it: Only plays audio through the left ear.    Will exchanging the 3.5mm "mono" cord for a "stereo" solve...

    Budget amp options for DT990/250s

Bump.    I've read seen quite a bit of malcontent with the E9, there must be some alternative? Is there one dissenting opinion?

    Budget amp options for DT990/250s

I'm looking for a desktop amp to power my new DT990s (250ohm) with a budget of $100.    The obvious recommendation seems to be the E9, are there alternatives I should check into? Or is the E9 the hands down winner in this category?    The only two other options with positive feedback...

Yeah not really a review. More of a "this is what I'm experiencing- is this normal?" type deal. I'm very new to the scene.

DT 770 or DT 990 or ______ for my purposes? My A700s are lacking....

Thanks for your input. Also, thanks for your review thread. While researching I read through it multiple times and referenced it often.

DT 770 or DT 990 or ______ for my purposes? My A700s are lacking....

Interesting! I've yet to find anything but vague indifference between the premium and pro, and was just about to pull the trigger on the pros. Thanks for the insight, I'll check into this further.

I had some amplification, but likely not enough to get the full potential out of the 700s. They were tremendously comfortable once I got used to them, and the sound was delightful.    All in all not exactly what I'm looking for from a headset right now, so the search continues.

DT 770 or DT 990 or ______ for my purposes? My A700s are lacking....

Thanks for the helpful reply.    I notice the 990 Premium is priced at $269 (amazon link), whereas the 990 Pro is $179 (link).   The only difference my research has uncovered is that the pro has more clamp (can be mitigated with stretching), and as a result has a minor effect on the bass...

DT 770 or DT 990 or ______ for my purposes? My A700s are lacking....

I got a pair of A700s as a gift, and they're great, however they're lacking in the fun category for me because I like to listen to dubstep/rap. My problem is that I want headphones that will still be good for gaming.    What's the most fun, bass-heavy set of headphones I can get away with...
