Apologies if this has been asked before, but can somebody explain to me what the gain setting is for? When would i adjust the gain, rather than just turning up the volume?

They only cost £6, might just give them away or keep them for gym use. It's made me appreciate my 3580s! I think the main issue is the shape of the port, I just don't think it makes for a good sound.

Update on the Veho Z-1................they're terrible! Haha, you win some you lose some eh!

So the Veho Z-1 I ordered have arrived. I hated the tips that came with them, but I managed to get some comply t-400s to fit on, despite the oval shaped port. Initial impressions are that the bass is lacking for me, but I'm hoping it may improve with usage. Definitely not the worst £6 I've...

Possible new find?   Veho Z-1       Found them on the amazon uk site for just £6.85, with some pretty good reviews for the price. Also available on the amazon us site for $9.99.   I thought they were worth a try. Just ordered, so ill post my thoughts as soon as they arrive.

I've not been listening to anything as heavy as that. Deftones new album has been in heavy rotation recently. Am I right in saying the 3580s are a v shaped sound, and I'd be probably happier with a more balanced sound?

My mom was clever enough to find my amazon wish list lol! She accidentally gave it away when I caught a glimpse of the delivery email. Surprise or not, I'm excited to get it. I can see it wrapped up right now actually haha!

I've recently got back into rock/metal and I've found that my SHH3580s sound awful at anything past 3/4 volume on my iPhone. Painful treble and mids just mush into noise. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe something a headphone amp would resolve? Anything electronic or hip hop sounds great.

Hey guys, I've found out I'm getting an e17 for Xmas. Knowing this I've ordered myself an L9 for use with my iPhone. Just wondering what connections are best for laptop. I have an older MacBook Pro, which can obviously take USB or spdif. I've not got much knowledge of digital audio connections...
