I think "open" and "closed" in the EQ is just bad translation on iBasso's part.   Both "open" and "enabled" can be written as “开” (kai) in Chinese, while "closed" and "disabled/off" is "关“ (guan) in Chinese. So I suspect that it is translated without any context.

I think most of the features we want can be implemented via software. I just hope that iBasso will release the source code of DX100's kernel as per GPLv2 requirements and let developers help improve the product. 

I got a suspicion that the drain is due to the device not going into deep sleep when the screen is off. You can use CPU spy to see if your device is going into deep sleep or not. Might be a case of the "DAP Idle" service staying active and preventing deep sleep.
