    Brief Odac impressions

I sold my creative soundblaster x-fi HD and ordered an ODAC. This is definitely as far as I'm willing to go for something like an amp and DAC, so hopefully I'll hear a difference. I certainly did with the Creative, but you never really get rid of that nagging suspicion that there is something...

    Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!

Both lack detail. They're very, very muddy. Smooth sound is one thing. Jazz is smooth. Certain genres are "smooth". This is just muffled. I'm spoiled by full size headphones hooked up to AMPs and DACs, I know, but I am still disappointed that these sound so average considering the MSRP, let...

    Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!

These headphones are incredibly average. They sound as muddy as my old hack-around-in Sennheiser CX300s. The only positive things I can say about them is that they are tiny, they don't have much cable noise thanks to the way they stick out away from your ears, and they are comfortable. These...

    O2 AMP + ODAC

Yeah, the O2 has always interested me, but I decided to wait for the ODA. Since that doesn't look like it's happening, I'm just going to go with this.   Thanks!

    O2 AMP + ODAC

I was thinking about getting the 02 + ODAC to upgrade my Creative USB Sound Blaster HD for my HD650s. The question I have is will having to use an adapter to go from the 6.5 mm jack to 3.5 mm to fit in the O2 hurt the sound quality?   I really wish he'd release the ODA. I also have my BX5a...

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...

If you have a 650, get the O2 and ODAC (or wait for the assembled desktop model, which should be the same thing). It's all you'll ever need, and it's relatively cheap.   EDIT: sorry, forgot this was a picture thread for a second. So used to just browsing it. : (

Yeah, this is something I'm definitely interested in. I assumed 2 years because it was included in the Sennheiser documentation.   Quote:

Well my 650s came in from DAHMART (Dakmart) on Amazon. Came complete and mint, not sure if there is any way physical to identify that they were refurbished. Plus it has the 2 year warranty! Not bad for $280-ish.   They have since gone back up in price, it would seem...

Heh, "destroy". Hyperbole much? Makes buying headphones really difficult when you can't test drive every pair.   Anyway, I bought the refurb HD 650s. $290-ish wasn't bad. Quote:

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I am so close to pulling the trigger on a refurbished pair of these things! I have some questions, though.   Do refurbs generally come with the box as a new pair would?   Would the creative X-Fi HD USB DAC...

Hmm...I could get a refurb for under that. Can't find any opinions on buying refurbs though...   Quote:

Are these regarded as highly as the HD650s? Because I've had my eye set on the Senns for a few months, waiting for those to hit $250... Quote:

The PANASONIC RP-HTF600-S headphones. More fun than the HD650?

For owners of these phones, how is the noise isolation both ways? I'm more concerned about outside noises getting in than music leaking from the headphones.

Adding one subwoofer to two sets of speakers

SO I got a sub with a line in and a line out, and I can't figure out how to connect it based on that sequence:   Vizio > Sub Out (RCA) > RCA Y Adapter Line In # 1 > Sub USB DAC > TRS to RCA > RCA Y Adapter Line In # 2 > Sub > RCA to TRS adapter > BX5a   Again, why do I need the Y...

Pictures of your computer rigs! Post them here!

Yeah, I know this was quite a few pages back. Just flipping through and saw this and said, "this is what I need!"   What kind of shelves are those? I've seen the type before, but don't have a name for them. Trying to get a few more pieces before I post my setup.   Quote:

Adding one subwoofer to two sets of speakers

Line in and line out...would this work? It doesn't have the LFE input.   Also, I tried to visualize your setup in my head, and I don't understand why I need so many Y adapters. I can see why I'd need one to connect the vizio sub out to the line in on the sub, but that would require only...

Adding one subwoofer to two sets of speakers

Oh, I was a bit confused how the Y adapter fit into the Left/Right inputs without knowing that you only need to plug it into one of them. : /   Ok, here's another question...can you plug one Y adapter into L and one into R on the same line in? For example, could I use this (the single line...

Adding one subwoofer to two sets of speakers

Sure.   This is the vizio soundbar, connected via the SPDIF to my Plasma. My BX5a has a XLR and TRS, connected to this USB DAC via the line out     Quote:

Adding one subwoofer to two sets of speakers

Well, the BX5a only has available XLR inputs (using the TRS to connect to the RCA output of the USB DAC). No RCA on the BX5a, so I don't see how that would work.   I suppose I could use this (http://www.amazon.com/PPRC-X05-Professional-Audio-Cable-Female/dp/B000V1RLI2) to connect the XLR on...

Adding one subwoofer to two sets of speakers

The situation: I have speakers (M-Audio BX5a, with a XLR and TRS inputs in the back) hooked up to my computer, and a Vizio soundbar (spdif and 2 RCA inputs, and a sub out) hooked up to my plasma for playing games. The BX5a is connected to my laptop via a USB DAC, the Creative X-fi HD. Everything...
