Official NYC area / Regional Fall meet, November 14th, 2015 - Stamford Sheraton
Tomorrow is the day! Mullet, can you remove Phil off the list please? He's not able to attend. Thanks in advance. I hope I can help out in some way so I figure I can at least take pictures of the meet and share it with the community afterwards. I would volunteer to help take photos of the...- evomunk

Interesting. I look forward to testing them out! Personally, I'm in the market for planar magnetic headphones, and I've been eyeing on the HiFiMAN 400i. But who knows what I'll end up with! And I look forward to meeting you, Jack!- evomunk

Could you please add three people to the list? My cousin (Phi), a friend from California (Phil), and I (Gary) will be attending. My cousin has a pair of K701s and a magi/modi combo, but doesn't want to bring it to the meet. If anything, it's only going to be Phil and I with our...- evomunk

AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition
Audiophile noob here. But recently I've been doing research for my next pair of headphones. My first pair are the Audio Technica ATH-M50s paired with a ASUS DG soundcard. It's what I could afford at the time but very satisfied with the quality it gives. At first, I was looking for another pair...- evomunk

I think I need a sound card..
Yes, buy the ASUS DG. I have one of my own paired with the M50s. I've been using both the soundcard and HP for a year now. Best $30 bucks ever spent on a soundcard.- evomunk

Posted by hipster2010 What did you like about the M50 and what makes you want to upgrade? What will they be used for (gaming, movies, music, portable)? What genres of music do you listen to primarily? Are you ok with open cans or do you only want closed? Any preferred sound signature (Emphasis...- evomunk

1. The M50s is a good balanced headphone. Good for entry level users to hear what good sound is like. The M50s got me hooked into the audio world now and I want to experience more with different pairs. The M50s made me never want to look back at the quality of sound that I've been experiencing...- evomunk

Its been about a year now since I've owned the ATH-M50s. Now, I want to make my next upgrade. My budget is probably about 300. I've had my eyes on the ATH-a900x for quite some time now. I mostly listen to music on my desktop using an ASUS Xonar DG soundcard.- evomunk

Before I pull the trigger real soon, I just want to make sure that the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80ohm is a good choice for a person that's receiving a good pair of closed-cans? He's mainly going to use it for movies. Another question is that how long does it take to break these in? It's just that...- evomunk

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm Thread
Question: I'm getting the DT770 Pro's as an Xmas gift for my cousin. I'm just not sure if I should go with the 80 or 250ohms. He will be mainly using them for movies. As far as his setup goes, he has a Samsung 46" LCD and a Sony surround sound. I was trying to check if his TV has a...- evomunk

Xmas Gift: Which of these are best for movies?
I'm hearing that there isn't much of a difference between the two. Since I'm new to audiophile headphones, I'm going to go ahead and save the $50 bucks and go for the A700s. These won't be my last pair of audiophile headphones I'll be getting...- evomunk

Xmas Gift: Which of these are best for movies?
Thanks for the quick reply! I had a feeling that I the DT 770-PROs is going to be a good first choice after reading reviews on them yesterday. Because I was doing some more research today and finding out that the A900s were also good as well. The A900s made my decision much harder. So then it is...- evomunk

Xmas Gift: Which of these are best for movies?
First, I'd like to give a quick background of my cousin and I. We work all day, everyday. So after work, we like to go home and relax. With me, I go home and listen to music almost all night before going to bed. But with my cousin, he loves watching movies. He's been talking about getting...- evomunk
