Looking for good close-backs £150/$220 - £200/$300
I've made my mind up. I've wanted to try the Beyerdynamics for may years, and I'm gonna do it! Then, once I get more money (God, studying in a nordic country is lucrative..) I will look into getting an open-backed headphone :) Then, an amp, and then some computer upgrades or maybe a new...- TDB Jaster

Indeed, I didn't see the "needs to be approved" message, so I assumed my text got lost in the web :P I would love to delete the thread...- TDB Jaster

Okay so my list right now is: AKG K545 Soundmagic P150 Beyerdynamic DT-770 Again, budget going up to $300... I would just get the well-known FA-003 again, but I need a bit more warmth this time :)- TDB Jaster

I owned them for 4 years and I was 16 at the time. Add onto that, the fact that I was an exchange student (therefore interesting) in England... Yes, I am a person. And I'm okay with it.- TDB Jaster

Ah, I think I see what you mean. I didn't realise what "wings" were until now.. I think while the loose fit has benefits, I should probably strike them off the list, as I could see myself getting annoyed with them. They might be fine, but it's not a risk worth taking.- TDB Jaster

I'm quite fond of my Cowon, to be honest. I'll keep it in mind if I ever break it though :) I quite like the suggestion of the HP150's. And the list grows. I think the thing I'm most looking to upgrade from the FA-003 is a slightly better bass. They actually felt "too neutral" (Which feels...- TDB Jaster

I will be using a Cowon C2 and my computer itself.. Which admittedly could use an upgrade sound-wise.. I need to look into that. I used to use a Fiio amp, but at the moment, I own no amps. Though I am not against the idea in the future when I gather more money :) As for the Soundmagics...- TDB Jaster

Not to worry - The headphones are primarily for home-use. And if I do bring them around with me, I tend to keep them around my neck or on my desk all day. (And if you know the FA-003, you'll know I'm used to bulky). All in all, I'm not really looking for something massively portable friendly...- TDB Jaster

I personally despise the way v-modas look - One may say that's irrelevant, but I'm vain like that. Thank you for the suggestion, though :) Well, I'll certainly add them to the possibility list - They seem pretty nice :) Currently my list of possible choices looks like this: Audio...- TDB Jaster

Greetings! So like everyone here, I could use some help :) My Fischer Audio FA-003's (which I liked a ton) recently broke, and I am ready for something new and upgraded! It excites me to buy new equipment. I am looking for a headphone with these details: Closed-back; I either have a...- TDB Jaster

Alright, so just like everyone else in this section, I could use some help :) My Fischer Audio FA-003's recently broke (could be saved with some glue, perhaps, but I I am both clumsy and get excited over new equipment), and I need a replacement. Here's the details I'm looking for: -...- TDB Jaster

1st Post, sorta kinda disappointed, request guidance.
I prefer headphones because of convenience, but also because it's something I can keep going with for hours, while I feel that I need to have full focus when I listen to speakers. That's probably a bit strange; I could imagine others thinking the exact opposite, but those are my 2 cents- TDB Jaster

Head-Fi and HDtracks (David Chesky) Collaborate to Assemble A Headphone System Test Album!
I've owned this album for a long time now and I just love it! I enjoy all of the actual music on the album, and the pure tests like Heartbeat and Percussion imaging are quite useful :) I'd love if Head-Fi could do something like this again! I need more music like this- TDB Jaster

Reply to review by 'tdb jaster' on item 'Fischer Audio FA-003'
I bought these over a year ago, based on this review, and I have loved every moment so far! The only thing that is pretty weak is the bass, but with a little amping, that is EASILY solved :) I listen to these every day, more than 5 hours a day with absolutely no strain! and the sound is, as...- TDB Jaster

Amp to go with FA-003 and Cowon C2
I've never actually experienced the infamous hiss that people talk about with the FiiO amps - Well, i have noticed it, but only very rarely, and definitely not while music was playing. Is it really worth the extra cash though? it's really quite a stretch for me (I'm a student with a £30 income...- TDB Jaster

Amp to go with FA-003 and Cowon C2
Quote: Hmm, that's a good point. An extra spare battery does add some security with thoughts on durability. NOTE: I just realised, it wasn't a cmoy - I was referring to Electric Avenues PA2V2 :) costs $60 and is apparently handcrafted and quite good, although no bass setting. ...- TDB Jaster

Amp to go with FA-003 and Cowon C2
Quote: The reason I have for replacing the E11 is that it broke (I was being careless at the time). So I either need to buy a new E11 or something else. I kinda prefer to have an amp - the C2 has quite a bit of sound modification and juice in itself, but I feel that an amp is going to be...- TDB Jaster

Amp to go with FA-003 and Cowon C2
Hey there! As you can most likely tell from the title, I am currently looking for a portable amp to go with my Fischer Audio FA-003 and Cowon C2 (which is still in the mail). I previously used my FiiO E11 amp which I really enjoyed, but I'm thinking I may want to try something new! :) I...- TDB Jaster

Durable MP3 Player?
Quote: Yeah, I've done that before on a few friends' MP3s because they couldn't understand why it was oh so quiet =P Thanks for the heads up, though! :) Going to buy the Cowon in a week or so, and then my FiiO E11 a bit later :) Thread pretty much closed :) Love you all! :P- TDB Jaster

Durable MP3 Player?
Quote: I actually found a shop that sells it within Denmark itself! which means, i can have it replaced if broken :) Gonna costs me 1000 DKK, which is roughly £110 (180$ I think) for the 16 GB version, so plus my 16 GB SD card, it should definitely suit my needs. It's a bit expensive, but...- TDB Jaster
