New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
Looking at the frequency response chart doesn't do justice to the SE215. Its best for you to try them out personally to find out whether you truly like the sound or not. Or as Gilly87 suggests, you can go for customs if your budget allows.- cyanidesyringes

New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
You can't technically compare earphones to headphones in terms of sound signature; its quite different. But based on your preference for the HD25s, I would say you might enjoy the SE215s. Tight bass, decent imaging and comfortable ear fit should make for a pretty good experience.- cyanidesyringes

FitEar Parterre (パルテール) Thread
Mostly using my iPod, computer, currently driven by my iBasso D2+ Boa. I would actually want to add a bit more to the mid-highs, make the output sound cleaner and more "sparkly" in a sense. The looming sub bass that's present as of now irks me a little. Maybe not really analytical, but...- cyanidesyringes

FitEar Parterre (パルテール) Thread
ooh boy. that's a start, but I don't think I have the ability to fork out this much right after the Parterre left a hole in my wallet. I was hoping for something along the 350USD range?- cyanidesyringes

FitEar Parterre (パルテール) Thread
Hey there, recently got my Parterres, and after a burn in period of around 120 hours, I've got to say, they sound really impressive. My only gripe here is the slightly recessed vocals and the slighty-more-than-average sub bass. ( Although switching to silver cables helped to relieve the...- cyanidesyringes

Recommendations for Portable Amplifiers
Well, technically I would prefer for a amp that has a DAC, as most of my lossless music is stored on my notebook. Those amps you mentioned; any particular improvements they will bring to the output? E.g. brighter mids, forward vocals, enlarging the soundstage etc.- cyanidesyringes

Recommendations for Portable Amplifiers
I have been using my trusty iBasso D2+ Boa for more than 3 years now, and I think it may be time to upgrade to a better one as both my headphones and I have been getting increasingly demanding lately. Any recommendations for portable amps/portable tube amps for around the price of 350 USD? ...- cyanidesyringes

New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
From my experience, it may or may not be better if you choose to install silver plated cables on your SE215s. Silver cables normally give a "sharper, clear, and cutting" feel to the output of your music, while copper/gold plated cables generally give a more forgiving and "warm" feeling to your...- cyanidesyringes

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Been using these cans for a few months now. Still awesome for rock and pop, although It's specialty dwells in the acoustic and ambient music sector. But i highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good set of cans for home use. It really gives your music a aural feel that heightens your audio...- cyanidesyringes

New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
What actually matters is your sound preference. In that particular price range of 100, the Shure SE215 should be perfect for those casual listeners looking for powerful bass with clear mids and a more spatial soundstage. Next you can consider the Westone 1, which is quite versatile for...- cyanidesyringes

Getting "called-out" for not wearing the Beats
I own a pair of Beats Studios, and lets just be clear about one thing. Sure it may look good and all, but the price is definitely not on par with the sound and noise cancellation funcions it provides. The sound it produces are muddy and lack clarity, compared to the XB500, which are actually...- cyanidesyringes
