    Cheap OPA627's "real"?

The dice are likely fabricated in the USA. The dice are then shipped to Asia for assembly. The assembled products are then shipped back to the USA and elsewhere with the "origin" labeled as the south Pacifiic.

Has anyone here used Belden 1506a?

I have used it for a spdif cable. I believe in this application it sounds quite good. It is pretty flexible as far as coax goes but don't expect it to be like standard hookup wire.

    PPA Parallel Cap Resonance

I've read that having several parallel low esr capacitors of different values(or constructions) can cause unwanted resonances. I see that this has been dealt with partially in the ppa with the addition of R8 to add some dampening but what about the parallel combo of C1, C2, and C3?

STEPS consistently blows when connected to PPA...?

I would try decreasing the C1 capacitance. What I believe is happening, is that the regulator can't handle the inrush current that begins when the C1 caps are first charging up. To the regulator it looks like a dead short.

How much total capacitance do you have for C1?

0404 or Audigy 2 ZS? Are they comparable?

Quote: For windows, the drivers for creative are broken. They really aren't good.. AT ALL. In fact, so is the hardware. Creative products in general are just not quality, no matter what anyone else tells you. Especially those Audigy cards. I don't know about the 0404 but on the...

    major problem with phamphamduc

I just checked my email and I found that Phamducduc has refunded the money I sent him. I can't ask for a better birthday present than the resolution of this problem. Jhawk22 has also been refunded his money as well. I would like to thank everyone that helped us out. I believe that you, the...

    Linear LT1963 power regulators.

Try taking out both the .1uf polyester and 10nF ceramic that are on the output of the regulator. I believe that the esr of this combination is too high for the regulator to handle. Small value ceramics have high impedance at lower frequencies so I believe this is what is giving you grief. I...

lead free solder reliability warning / another Euro blunder?

I wonder how long it will be before the EU bans tin, also a heavy metal. Then we can start welding electronics instead of soldering.

lead free solder reliability warning / another Euro blunder?

The irony of the matter is that lead-acid car batteries will be exempted from the ban as there is no suitable alternative. Lead is not a danger unless you either eat it or drink it. In order to drink lead contaminated water, there must be a leaching agent in order to draw the lead into the...

    No more Black Gate caps?

    No more Black Gate caps?

Who cares if Rubycon stops making the caps? Rubycon does not own the graphite technology used in them. The company that owns the patents is Jelmax. Rubycon is only the manufacturer. I'm certain that if rubycon where stupid enough to do this Jelmax would go to Elna, Panasonic, Sanyo, etc. and...

Best Ripping Optical Drive for EAC.

Quote: *EDIT* Sheesh. $200+ for a new one? Ah, the price of NOS. How is it NOS when the drive is still in production? Also the 4012S is actually produced by Plextor and not simply a rebranded drive.

I would reccomend the Plextor 40TS or Yamaha CRW-F1 if you can find either. I love my Plextor. So much so that I have three backup drives.
