Apple IEM - most underrated IEMs on the market

Sorry to bump this thread, but I've owned a pair of these for about a month now, and can honestly say I'm very impressed. I own a pair of SE530's, HF2's, and ER4P's, but these are what I spend the majority of time with. The convenience factor, compatibility with my iPhone, and actual...

Best Custom IEM That Replicates Etymotic Er-4p/s

I don't have much experience with the UE's, but the Shure SE530's were a decent improvement over the Ety ER4P. Well, decent in that they had more bass, but the clarity/treble of the Ety's were still better. Have you tried setting up an EQ for your source? I know it's not the most ideal way...

New apple duel driver earphones, for only $79?

Seriously, when are these coming out. I've been dying for a pair of mid-range IEM's to pair with my iPhone. The damn connector thing for the 1G iPhone is bugging the heck outta me. I'm ready to buy a pair of HF2's if these don't come out soon.

Contemplation: Shure e500, Justice for Violins, Issue with Highs or my Newb Ears?

I'm having the same issue. After my dog got into my ER4P's, I decided to upgrade to the E500's/SE530's to see what everybody was talking about. I just got them a few days ago, and I'm a bit disappointed. The highs are really rolled off and the er4p's seem to be a lot more forgiving on bad...

New iPod earbuds review (vs. the older one) -- Model No: MA662G/A

I had the KSC35's (the older version of the KSC75) and I've used KSC75's before. I really liked the sound on those, especially for the ~$15 I paid for the KSC35's, but these are two different headphones. The sound of the KSC35's resembled that of a baby SR60 to me (a nice full, open sound...

New iPod earbuds review (vs. the older one) -- Model No: MA662G/A

A couple people wanted reviews on this headphone... so here it is. Intro: With the new iPod Nano, Apple quietly released a new stock headphone to be included with the new 2G iPod nanos and new iPod Videos. In fact, I wasn't even aware of this until I went to Apple's site to find the earbud's...

    The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread

I know I'm a month late, but this thread's been going for 10 months so nobody should mind I love my HD580's! People say that you need to stick them into a good source to drive them, but they sound better than my SR60's straight outta the iPod. They just sound so sweet and pretty =)...

    Budget (~$100) IEM's for techno & gym?

thanks for the suggestions Honda! I've been doing my research and I like the Shure design and all, but when everybody says their headphones are all midrange I'm still hesitant. I listen to a lot of Underworld, Richie Hawtin (minimalist techno), Jeff Mills, Tool, and a lot of my own...

    Budget (~$100) IEM's for techno & gym?

Okay I know the "recommend me headphones for gym" question gets asked pretty often, but a search couldn't find the issues that I've had with my headphones. First off, I've never owned an IEM, but I've considered some for on-stage monitoring. I'm not rich enough, yet, to own a $500+ custom...

HD cans with impedence worries over exagerated.

yup, all nitpickings aside, my HD580's sound really good straight out of the soundcard. They sound even better with an amplifier and it's hard to go down when you know the headphone's potential (slightly more dynamic, bass extension, etc.)

The Great (Single Driver) IEM Debate: E4c's vs. ER-4P's

I'm considering the same here, I'm purchasing a Powerbook for music and I want good canalphones for monitoring (and for my iPod as well). I was thinking of skipping over both and going for the E3c's though (hard to justify twice the cost). Debating between Mackie HR824's and Dynuadio BM5A's...

    HD580/600 intermittency repairs

Tried it, still doesn't really work. This isn't the first time I've had this intermittent problem. First time I replaced the cable with a Clou Red, and everything was fine. Now I tried the spring fix (maybe I don't have the spring fully stretched, but it looks right and I don't want to...

The one album from a genre you don't like in your collection

I used to think Paul Oakenfold's Tranceport was the odd album from electronica I could actually listen to, but Underworld has given me new hope for electronica. For now, it's probably Linkin Park Hybrid Theory or System of a Down- Toxicity. I don't listen to either very much, but they're both...

Would it be illegal to advertise an iPod with songs on it?

Thinkin about selling my iPod on eBay. Would it be illegal to advertise it as: 20gb iPod, currently contains a whole multitude of albums - Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Pixies, Paul Oakenfold, Miles Davis, etc. etc. I will reformat the iPod before the auction ends at buyer's request, otherwise it...

Winamp 5. Used to use Winamp 2, but I like Winamp 5's file management a lot better. Artist - Album - Track # - Title Couldn't do that with Winamp 2i don't think... Tried using foobar, but it's still a bit too young for me right now. I'll wait until more stuff is out for it (too lazy to...

Sr80s powered by audigy 2, do i need an amp?

Well, just to chime in, I felt that the SR60's had no improvements with the Fixup Mini. I was listening critically for a couple minutes (not that long, I know), but decided almost immediately that the differences, if there were any, to be too miniscule to care for.

I've been a big Radiohead fanatic for a while (way too long) and while I've tried to find other music to listen to other than Radiohead, it's been too hard to find something that is quite as enjoyable. Why listen to good music if I can listen to great music with Radiohead? Anyways, I've been...

I need advice concerning what headphones to buy...

My HD580's straight out of the computer jack sounds better than my SR60's straight out of the computer jack. HD580's out of my iPod vs. SR60's out of iPod... SR60's win, but not by that much. HD580's amped DOES sound A LOT better than the HD580's unamped, but the HD580's unamped sound VERY...
