It uses a volume control wheel, right? It is a common problem for volume wheel. Does it have manufacture code on it? Same batch probably use same batch of part, they likely have same problem. If you want to exchange it, you should try different batch.

Is 272 out? I have 202 and 242. Every year Sony changes something and up a model number. They have been very solid through normal abuse. I remember some complaints toward early 262 (or 252 ?) as not very waterproof; I believe Sony have corrected the problem. Pyle also has a waterproof one...

The new N3 firmware, volume one is not loud enough, volume two is too loud. More increments is really needed. But, some said the loudest level is still too quiet. Can the difference among players are so huge? Whose player is the faulty one?

Class A is certainly not. Many said the difference between Studio and Rocoo P is minimun, some disagreed. We can hear and feel differently, but scientific terms should be precise. Let's just leave it as that.
