I read from a couple of people (from google search) that the cable that comes with it does not allow DAC and it is for data transfer and charging. If the cable in the box can be used for DAC then there is no problem!

No I would certainly notice if it was an improvement... but also there is a lot of "expectation bias" in audio... So was just looking to see if any actual measurements showing improvements... Thing is with that link though, yes there is an improvement, but the first graph is already below...

That is a good improvement, but isn't that because the Modi has not great USB in the first place? Mm yes these do look interesting but not sure how much difference they will make if your DAC already has good USB.

Are there any measurements proving that these devices make a measurable difference? I have seen one where some of these devices like the IFI or the Uptone reduced the noise floor on the USB slightly, but we are talking about -130db instead of -120db... So I don't think this would make any...

Has anyone actually conclusively said it is the HD700 driver? What I read Sennheiser say is that it is "based on" the HD700 driver. So that is not necessarily just plonking the HD700 driver in HD650.

I just cannot agree that the 2C has the same bass punch as the X00 or Teak etc. Don't get me wrong the 2C are very good overall, but compared to CLOSED dynamic headphones, they do not have very punchy bass. Compared to OPEN dynamic headphones they would win there.
