More power?  So you suggest buying an amp that costs several times more than the phones? I use porta corda III at work, if that isn't enough then something is wrong. Putting it straight to the headphone plug in the laptop makes the sound even worse.   I think I need to test them with my Corda...

Then the topic "review details" is completely misleading and wrong.

I don't understand these review details. The bars it shows, audio quality, comfort etc. are totally different than I set on the review page. Audio and value should be really low. Comfort and design are fine.

Review by 'Blizzard' on item 'AKG K 272 HD High-Definition Headphones'

Are this supposed to be Hifi?    I got these from work when I asked for sound canceling phones. No these are not that, although pretty good on isolation. But what disappoints me most is that there simply isn't any low frequencies. Rock and heavy metal sounds just awfully blant. They lack...

    Suggestions for closed Headphones?

Thanks to everyone for replies. Well everyone seems to have their own preferences. The Denon seem interesting and there would be option of 5000 or 7000 models. Is there a significant difference in sound quality?

    Suggestions for closed Headphones?

Hi,   I'm hoping someone could give me advice on a closed headphone to use at the office. I currently use HD-800 at home and I have a pair of old HD-650 phones. I would use them at work, but they "spit" too much sound out. If I listen to them, my co-workers around the same table can even...

    Corda Aria problem

Hey! I have Corda Aria headphone amp which comes with an USB DAC. It worked fine in XP but now I upgraded to Vista 64bit and it wont work. It asks for driver disk which there isn't of course and it can't find any driver so it wont work. Have anyone of you had similiar problems with Vista...

Atrac or mp3 on Sony HD3 player?

Hi! I have a Sony HD3 player and was wondering which one is better format to use, Atrac3 or mp3? I want maximum sound quality. I'm using 320k bitrate. If mp3 then what codec?

    Meier-Audio CORDA Aria

This is great news. I bought the Porta Corda III USB for work to use as a soundcard and headphone amp. And I love it! Even when my Philips SBC-HP1000 phones fell on the floor and broke and I had to use my old JVC crap phones it made them sound decent. Great dynamics from such a small amp and...

    WAV & Sony NW-HD3

This player is suppposed to support WAV-format. But why can't I tranfer wav-files to it? Sonicstage allways converts them to Atrac3+ 64kbs format. I changed options that it should ask if it can't transfer. But no it still converts. I can change the conversion to 320kbs or to MP3 but WAV won't go...

    Portable amps

I just bought a Porta Corda III Usb. Main use will be as a combined USB soundcard and headphone amp at work. Couldn't stand sound directly from the motherboard integrated soundcard. The sound improved a lot with the corda! Very pleased! But I also tested it with my friends iPod Shuffle, with...

    Best 20gb player with WAV-support

I'm looking for a portable player with 20gb HDD and wav-support. What would be the best choice? I'm mostly concerned about sound quality and plan to use it with Porta Corda III amp. I was going to buy a Sony NW-HD3, but can't find it at an resonable price anymore in europe and I believe HD5...

    Improving sound from PC

One question that puzzels me mostly is how well a sound card or a portable player works as a combined source and amp? Will it sound good enough, or do I need to buy an amp too, to get decent sound. Or would just an amp give me some improvement?

    Improving sound from PC

I have a nice setup at home Arcam A32/CD33 and HD650. The sound is fantastic. But I like to listen to music at work too. I bought an used pair of Philips SBC-HP1000 phones. Sounded very good at home, doesn't lose much to HD650. But at work, driven directly from a motherboard integrated...
