HA-INFO (TPA6120) Headphone Amp
This is an economy amp purchased for it's case, not it's contents, thinking it would save casework on the next DIY. However, I find that it is good quality amp worth a look for anyone who wants satisfactory performance on a tight budget. Found on Ebay = $34.50 + $8.50 air mailed from Hong Kong...- fubar3

Ruffletron: Body-Fi for girls
A young lady and a man-friend have created Ruffletron, a prototype of a wearable musical interface and an experiment in performative interaction. Touching the ruffles produces sounds. This is a girly project for now, but I bet it will inspire others to create other kinds of musical clothing...- fubar3

DIY: O2 the Edifier HA11
The Edifier is an economy amp with nice aluminum case. There are photos and comments on this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/412257/edifier-hall-ha11. It is a shame that nice case hides a poor quality circuit which is prone to oscillation and latch-up. Consider the following schematic:-...- fubar3

DYI: Virtual grounds with differential regulators
Since wall-warts don't have center taps, the typical DIY phone amp has a half-wave rectifier assigned to each voltage regulator. This works, but does not seem very robust with each regulator being fed one at a time. One could use an internal power transformer but this adds cost and casework...- fubar3

DIY: Surfboard Amp For SMD On Any Proto Board
Some new buffers are only available in SMD packages. I suppose DIP sockets don't supply good enough thermal regulation for 1/2watt devices. Fortunately, there is a solution for the enthusiast who wants to build a good phone amp in a 1-of project using mostly general-purpose parts. Tiny...- fubar3

75 amplifiers for you
Products from China often have charming descriptions. For example, check amplifiers at dinodirect.com. There are many digital power headphone amplifiers, most are just circuit boards. There are few in nice cases. One headphone amplifier is mainly for driving speakers. It does not claim to be a...- fubar3

Fubar III DAC/Amp Good But Flawed
Legacy Sony MDR-V2 headphones still usable but padding fell apart so I bought Sennheiser HD238 phones which are a bassy disappointment. Hmmm, perhaps the 32-ohm headphone impedance needs a robust amp so I ordered the Fubar3/MK2 which specified:- Output Resistance: Extra low output resistance...- fubar3
