Quote: I know im gonna get bashed for saying this but i dont have an amp for the Q701 just yet - just got them a few days ago. I will be getting one in the near future but as of now i'll be enjoying them without one. As you may have guessed running the Q701 unamped will sounds rather thin...

    Bought Ultrasone HFI-780, not satisfied

dont get the pro550 if you want more bass, they have less than the 580s. Since the 780s also have less than the 580s id guess that the pro550s and 780s have roughly the same amount of bass.

    AKG Q701 Vs. AKG K702 | Comparison & Review

hey chicolom, i see you've owned the ad900 before, im thinking of getting a q701 since i have some comfort issues with the ad900. I absolutely enjoy the sound from the ad900, was just wondering if these two have similar sound signatures.   edit: have an e10 as source, will be buying an amp...

    Need some headphone recommendations...

Quote: yes for movies the bass would not be sufficient so id stray away from the ad700. I'd have to agree would Dubstep Girl and recommend the denon d2000

    Few Quick Questions

Soundstage on the 580s is very small, they are very much 'in your face' sounding and fairly fatiguing after an hour or so. The pro550s soundstage is larger and sounds a little bit more distant than the 580s. For me i much prefer the pro550 'distant' sound to the 'in your face' sound of the 580s...

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Just got mine a few hours ago. They sound bloody amazing. In comparison to my pro550 and hfi580, all i can say is that the pro900 takes the pros of both and puts them into one headphone so time to sell the other two.

About to pull the plug on HFI 580

the zo2 adds a considerable amount of bass to the 580's and unless you're an insane basshead i dont think its necessary. The 580's are fairly easy to drive, an amp isnt really needed. For a crisp clean sound id recommend grabbing a nice dac rather than an amp. The e7 serves as both (dac and amp)...

How often does the 650 go on sale?

razordogdeals2008 on ebay are authorized sennheiser dealers, make them an offer on their 650 listing, im sure they would take it.

Former Grado owners, what are you listening with?

AD900, great mid range, comfortable, is forward sounding and a large sound stage.

Best headphones for electronic music (trance, progressive)?

Ultrasone Pro900 are probably one of the best cans for electronic music for around 300, they are crisp clear and provide an excellent low end. Only problem in your case is that they are not very portable and some may think their comfort isnt that great (i think they're awesome).

*** YOU ASKED FOR IT!? YOU GOT IT!!!***- Ultrasone Dj1 Pro Review

Quote: Yes i would like to know this too, been thinking of getting a pro 900 as an upgrade from my pro 550 and hfi 580 (yes i have both) but not too sure if its worth the money though.

    Need advice on deciding!!

I noticed you listed mainly closed back cans. An open back can would be mostly likely better for your choices of music. I'd recommend an AD700 as the sound stage on these are great for classical and they have a fast in your face kind of sound similar to grados (which are known to be great for rock).

Do the HD448 answer for my Requests ?

I've owned the 448 before, i enjoyed them very much but they were not bassy enough for me. I picked up an XB500 and very much liked the bass from them but now the sound was not as refined and the 448's so i kept searching. Finally stumbled across an Ultrasone Pro 550 these retain the refined...

Best headphone for pop and classic? (budget< 150€)

Avril's songs are considered pop/rock, so i'd recommend some grado's or alessandro's. These are great open cans but if you need some closed cans i'd recommend a pair of ultrasones as their sound isnt too far off from the grado's and these will sound amazing for bass heavy music especially for...
