Hmm I see both rev 1 and 2 start their roll offs at around 1 khz. Only rev 1s roll of is steeper.

wow the krk 6400 FR looks very good for the price.   Not much bass roll off and no glaring treble spikes. 

I was on the same budget. Ended up with used (lightly) LCD 2s and nfb-10 for $1250.

I think the hd25 could be better for rock. The portability is a plus but the comfort is not for everyone. I haven't heard the m50s so can't comment on that. 

I heard the stock SGS and hated it. Have the SGS2 and hate it. Clip+ beats the crap out of both IMO.    I'm not sure about Voodoo-ed SGS though.    Be wary of its sound signature though. It seems flat. Like really flat. The highs can be a little fatiguing at times.

Okay so..   Orthos I have less choices for an LCD2 rig, more for HE-500.   Dynamic I can go with something like HD 650 + a really expensive amp.  I know HD 650 can scale well, but can it compete with the $ 1k headphones. Can it compete well?   T1 is another option. HD 800...
