In that price range, it doesnt get much better than the TAH. I'd hold on to it until you have enough for a rather large upgrade.

I have used both sets and personally prefer the bowls on my 225's especially now that they are burnt in and the sound has rounded out. I just find that for acoustic music they add more texture and air to the sound, although I have my flats waiting on my desk for those times when I want a little...

I didnt find my 225s improved a whole bunch, just noticed a little more presence, when I ran them through my Porta Corda mkII, although the headphone jack I am comparing it to is quite good (on an older amplifier), so I suppose it depends what you are stepping up from.

I love my 225's. Put you right in the middle of the music, awesome, involving texture to the sound. Have tried them with pretty much everything and they dont stop performing. Make sure you give them a chance to break in when you get them, after playing in a drawer for a couple hundred hours...

IMO the grado 225 really has a that great kick with electric bass, involving and impactful. Burn them in and get some flat pads and you'll be pleased. I don't find them too bright at all, I think involving and impactful is a better way to put it. They rock.

Hey Ask your shipper to mark the gift as a commercial sample with a low value. This can reduce the duty by a whole lot, and I have also had no duty at all. Disadvantage is this only works through regular post, as couriers will charge the cross border brokerage.

Have not tried the 900's but my 225's rock as much as my big vintage Pioneer speakers for acoustic jazz and blues, which is saying something...love 'em

Nope, unfortunately. The drivers are made to different specs. I have heard about you being able to squeeze 6i and 4s/p tips onto er6's though..to change the fit.

The Senns are better than the grados for this sort of thing??
