Looking for a pair of in-ears. My main headphone ever since 2011 has been the good old ATH-M50 which everyone certainly knows about. It's just always appealed to me the most even when compared to more high end headphones i've tried and I guess i'd like to get something that could be considered...

I was considering the 1MORE's but have read some not so good things about their build quality, anyone else have suggestions?

I guess that's true, the M50s have a lot of colour and character, a bright sounding headphone but i'd still describe them as very well balanced. I've never heard the M50x, the M50's I use are the older model because I got them over 6 years ago but I imagine they'd sound pretty similar. Like the...

The Q701's are great headphones... which i sold :/   Although i haven't listened to the grados i can imagine the AKGs would be a worthwhile upgrade, big soundstage, very flat sounding, regarding bass the bass is there but you can't really feel it, meaning there is a severe lack of bass...

You don't need an amp for the ATH-M50... They're pretty easy to drive and even sound pretty good off an iPod.

Buy a pair of fake beats off ebay and get the ATH-M50s.

Back to the topic of Beats (sorry)  i have kids at my school wearing them as necklaces, although there are quite a few kids in my grade who understand the truth behind beats, including a fellow M50 owner.

Yeah i recently got the Q701 (rebaged K701) an upgrade from my ATH-M50 and and selling them as i consider them to not be worth the upgrade. I think the next headphone purchase i make will be in the FUTURE with the HE-500 or LCD-2.

I am also 14...

I can hear the difference. Q701's have much bigger soundstage, clearer, less muffled but not too much of a difference (personally) and not worth the upgrade.
