OPPO To Reveal PM-3 Planar Magnetic Headphones and HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier at RMAF
Hopefully the pics are of the PM-3 prototype and the final model won't have a glossy finish. Why you would put a glossy (read: easily scratched, finger print magnet) finish on a portable headphone is beyond me... High hopes for this one, though!- Anathallo

Looks like Jason is listening to Alpha Dogs, and I would have to agree that most of the T50RP mods sound fantastic with the amp. A lot of others seem to agree as well (google Paradox Vali, for example).- Anathallo

Oppo PM-1: A New Planar Magnetic Headphone!
Haha, now I know I just need to bitch and moan to get something worthwhile. Thanks for the pics, Jude, they're lovely. I still hate the 25-odd pages of number-farting that people have to sift through to find the good stuff.- Anathallo

Oppo PM-1: A New Planar Magnetic Headphone!
This whole forum has become a cesspool of misinformation and speculation with practically no real news or technical discussion to be found. So time consuming to dig through all the garbage to find any worthwhile information on upcoming products.- Anathallo

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
Quote: If I recall, Schiit has stated several times that the Mjolnir was meant to be an 'end-game' product. I would think a lot of the same technology will be in the Rag. I suspect the discrete volume pot may be the only improvement over the Mjolnir from a balanced headphone amp.- Anathallo

Quote: If you have "a 1000 albums" on your X3, then the bit rate your albums must be at must be pretty low. At that point, why not just buy an ipod or some other product with a better ui? The whole selling point of the x3 over another product is the hi-res/multi-format playback...- Anathallo

Audio Shops in Toronto?
Surprised no one's mentioned Planet of Sound. http://planetofsoundonline.com They are on Queen East - they carry DACs, headphone amps, Beyerdynamics, Grados and Sennheiser. All can be demo'd, and it's a MUCH quieter store than BBR, with cheaper prices to boot.- Anathallo
