  The prices of tubes aren't exactly decided by their manufacturers anymore. Well, that's the case for most NOS tubes at least. I've seen tubes go for way over 500 a pair on eBay. However sometimes that same pair of tubes will also pop up for ridiculously cheap prices. 

  I believe he meant that if you were to go for a solid state amp, the NFB-15.32 has good enough reviews that you should seriously consider it. 

Ah, that explains it. Didn't notice the shipping. Makes me wonder about all the stuff I missed because they don't ship worldwide.

  Congratz on your tube. I'm not too fond of my current Westinghouse 6EW7 tubes. They actually sound a bit congested and lacks some detail.    Still waiting for my 6SN7 and the adapters to arrive. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered them separately since I had to wait 2 weeks for my local...

  I don't see why you wouldn't use the Bifrost and Lyr for the flagships. They are pretty hard to beat at that price. Besides, the Lyr was designed for orthos.

  I honestly have no idea. Why would you not want to fully insert the tubes? 

  Maybe that picture is only for illustration purposes. The owner's manual states that we should insert the tubes all the way in. 

  I don't really use my portable stuff anymore but back in the day I tend to just plug whatever I have into my iTouch when I'm too lazy to grab the amp while leaving the house.
