I suggest you buy the E9 and put it on the high gain mode. When I first got my system, I experimented with the low and high gain and found that the low gain muffled a lot of the sound. It's either because of the electronics inside the E9 that makes it sound like that or the 650's just love...

Been listening to a bunch of Glee FLAC tracks since I received my HD650 and I absolutely adore the bass guitar/drums combo in "I've had the time of my life". It's so rich, controlled, tight and I can feel it. All that's lacking is the real thump you get when listening to loudspeakers. I am in love
