    Custom IEM Repair

Does anyone have any places in the US that they would recommend that can diagnose Custom IEM problems/do repairs? I have a pair of custom reshelled TF10's (from LEAR in HK, stay away from them) and one of the ears stopped working, and LEAR doesn't have any warranties for repair nor are they...

Best IEM under $100 for jogging and going to the gym.

I'm surprised no one has recommended SoundMagic yet. Recently at the end of May, SoundMagic has released 2 new models for working out, you should check out the E30's. They're only around $30 USD, and I've heard that the comfort they provide is unrivaled. For that price range, it's hard to beat...

IEM for hip hop under $100

My recommendation would probably be either refurbished Monster Turbines (if they're still available), or the Shure 215's, both of them will pack enough bass for listening to Hip Hop, while not sacrificing too much in other aspects.

What's the best IEM for under $100?

For your slightly bass heavier needs I would actually say either Brainwavz M3 or SE215, the RE0 might not to be your type of IEM.

    Etymotics mc5

I'd advise you to stay away from the MC5 not for the build quality (it's one of it's bests actually), but for the music signature you're probably looking for. I have a similar taste in music as you, and I find the bass in MC5's to be very lacking and in all honesty the clarity that is famous in...

Please help! Monster Trubine vs other IEMs ~$100 in terms of bass

Woops my apologies I don't know what I was thinking there, yeah Turbines are good, but don't get the Beats, they're definitely not worth it.   There are quite a few knockoff Beats for like 1/5th the price that have essentially the same sound quality.

Need help with purchasing new cheap IEMs

Yeah, PL50 would be probably my recommendation as well, simply one of the most comfortable IEMs out there, with pretty good sound quality, great bang for buck.

    Monster Turbine Review (with pictures)

Glad to hear that you like them, and they're an even better deal for $50 refurbished.

Please help! Monster Trubine vs other IEMs ~$100 in terms of bass

Quote:   Now that's a bit harsh on Beats. Even though they DO spend a lot of money on marketing, Refurbished Turbines are one of the best deals out there. At that price range, there aren't many better alternatives.

    *SoundMAGIC PL50 Review*

It's a good buy, but the only reason I don't have a pair of them yet is I like much more fun-sounding earphones with a strong low end (I listen mostly to Hip hop/electronic). Glad to see that you like it though, SoundMagic does make very nice earphones, and to me, some of the most comfortable...

Purchased Etymotic HF2's but worried ... Help?

I'm using their MC5's right now, and even though I really dislike the Ety sound signature (I'm pretty much a basshead), I can't fault them for their build quality. I've been using these MC5's for a while (only for the isolation) and they've been holding up well and I've had no problems with them...

    Ety ER-4P IEM comfort..?

Yeah, I think your main concern shouldn't be comfort, but the music quality..... Etymotics are notorious for lacking in the bass department, so it might not be the best choice for your music tastes. I'd think that the Shure 215 would be better than the HF5 because the HF5 still shares the...

[REVIEW] Edited Shure SE215 IEM REVIEW

Looking forward to hearing the reviews, especially on how it compares to the Etys. Do the Etys still hold the crown for isolation or is Shure getting close to taking it? That's one of my biggest questions.

    sound magic pl11 or pl30 ?

They should work with your Nokia C7, if any normal earphones can work with it.

    sound magic pl11 or pl30 ?

If price is not an issue, PL30.   Even if price is an issue, I'd still say PL30....

Searching for Gym IEMs for <$50

I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of isolation for comfort, since I'll be wearing these 'phones for at least 90 mins every time I go to the gym. Thanks for the input though!

Comfortable in-ear headphones: giving and looking for advices

Quote: +1 to this, I can attest that the PL50 is one of the most comfortable earphones I've ever worn. They're very lightweight and it's really easy to forget about them once they're in your ear. Etys are decent for comfort, but I'd still recommend the PL50. Or if you'd wait, SoundMagic...

Searching for Gym IEMs for <$50

Quote: I agree, but that's only going to show how SoundMagic's older models can somewhat keep up with competitor's newer models..... I've yet to find anything that beats the comfort of the PL50.

Searching for Gym IEMs for <$50

Quote: Sounds good! Looking forward to hearing good things about the E30, already excited for it's release! Their old models were already pretty nice (especially comfort-wise), it's nice to hear they're making improvements.

Searching for Gym IEMs for <$50

Actually I talked to one of the sales reps of SoundMagic (I live in China), and the E30 is set to be officially released near the end of the month (so I'd say about 2-3 weeks time). The retail price should be around $35 (it will be priced at 230 RMB in China).   I think I'll wait it out for...

    Best isolation?

Quote:   I've heard that the Shure 215's have very nice isolation, and they also fit inside your ear and don't stick out, so you can probably sleep comfortably on those, you might want to check it out.

Searching for Gym IEMs for <$50

Man all this sounds really tempting..... ClieOS did SoundMagic provide you with a MSRP? I noticed that they've given one for the P30, and I'm just curious to see what the price for these would be (I know it's gonna fall in the sub $50 range).   Think I'm gonna go with the E30's, looking...
