Philips Fidelio X2?!
Do the Bass Plus pads just click in like the stock ones? Or is it more involved? Is the glue discussion related?- zethca

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I considered those and ended up getting a Micca OriGen - I've been pretty happy with it, though I don't have much to compare it to outside my onboard audio and a cheap discrete sound card. Here's a Z Review.- zethca

Philips SHP9500 Discussion Thread
I've been having a tough time searching out a guide for replacing the pads with HM5s. I'm guessing that's because it doesn't require one? It looks like the stock pads basically need to be torn off and then try to stretch them over the plastic ring.- zethca

Philips Fidelio X2?!
I'll probably not worry about it, I'm not as as concerned about these things as other enthusiasts, though I can see the QC problems now that I realize it's more common than I expected. Maybe I'll contact Amazon and see if they'll accept it 3 months after the fact. And sorry for being...- zethca

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Just noticed I have the imperfect aluminum strip ring around the housing of the left cup - (not my photo - this looks a bit worse than mine) Haven't been able to hear a difference but I'm not sure if that's an acoustic seal or what. Bought them 3 months ago from Amazon, so I'm not sure if I...- zethca

Lady GaGa - "Born This Way" quick impressions/comments!
My Grados seem to do a great job resolving the layer-heavy production on most of these tracks (especially the top half of the spectrum). Of course the bass could use more depth and prominence, one of the reasons I'm dying to pull the trigger on the D2000. I think this album has much more... -
Just got the Mac Book Pro!
I new to all this stuff and this is the first I've read about the Toslink stuff. Right now I'm running a 3.5mm mini jack from the Macbook Pro headphone port to a PA2v2 amp. Could I benefit from using Toslink?- zethca

Lady GaGa - "Born This Way" quick impressions/comments!
I agree with most of your impressions. I liked the album a lot, it's one of my favorite so far this year. Tracks I've been coming back to include Electric Chapel, Edge of Glory, and Government Hooker. -
***Earbud Guide - 22 Earbuds compared***
So do the $200 tier PK1/980 justify their ~$100 premium over the PK2? Agh, diminishing returns, my least favorite thing about this hobby.- zethca

***Earbud Guide - 22 Earbuds compared***
I only have a PA2V2. Anyone have experience with it and the MX980/PK1. Will it do them justice? I'm really set on these buds.- zethca

Yuin PK1-PK2 impressions thread
Quote: I'm really interested to hear whether you think the Sennheisers are worth the extra $100. I do listen to a lot of alternative/indie where I detailed highs but not I don't know if it's worth the extra money.- zethca

Yuin PK1-PK2 impressions thread
Quote: I'm in the exact same position. I'm looking at the PK1 vs the Sennheiser MX 980. As far as IEMs go, there's very little competition in terms of sound stage at this price level right? I'm thinking of IE6/7 vs PK1/MX980- zethca

best head phones for rock
I'm not an expert on the subject but from my research I know the vast majority of users here will recommend you the Grados. SR60 and 80 would be great for you. They aren't necessarily uncomfortable, it varies from person to person. Some people find them less comfortable than others but you can't...- zethca

Lets talk dubstep ..
I don't know if you guys dislike the "brostep" subgenre but lately I've been really digging Nero's stuff (especially remixes) and the latest Luvstep mix from Mad Decent. -
MacBook Pro output
Thanks a lot. It's probably minimal at best. I've also read about the good DACs in MBPs, but it seemed to me that was referring to either the higher end 15 and 17" models or the older non-alluminum MacBooks. I know it's nothing to lose sleep over but I'd love to get some solid info on it.- zethca

MacBook Pro output
Hello Headfi. First time post, long-time lurker. So I finally took the plunge and picked up some Grado SR225s and a PA2V2. SUPER excited about it. Slightly uncertain about something though. I've done a few searches with pretty weak results. Basically, when I'm using my MacBook Pro (13"...- zethca
