Do the Bass Plus pads just click in like the stock ones? Or is it more involved? Is the glue discussion related?

  I considered those and ended up getting a Micca OriGen - I've been pretty happy with it, though I don't have much to compare it to outside my onboard audio and a cheap discrete sound card. Here's a Z Review. 

I've been having a tough time searching out a guide for replacing the pads with HM5s. I'm guessing that's because it doesn't require one? It looks like the stock pads basically need to be torn off and then try to stretch them over the plastic ring. 

  I'll probably not worry about it, I'm not as as concerned about these things as other enthusiasts, though I can see the QC problems now that I realize it's more common than I expected. Maybe I'll contact Amazon and see if they'll accept it 3 months after the fact.    And sorry for being...

I new to all this stuff and this is the first I've read about the Toslink stuff. Right now I'm running a 3.5mm mini jack from the Macbook Pro headphone port to a PA2v2 amp. Could I benefit from using Toslink?

I agree with most of your impressions. I liked the album a lot, it's one of my favorite so far this year. Tracks I've been coming back to include Electric Chapel, Edge of Glory, and Government Hooker.

So do the $200 tier PK1/980 justify their ~$100 premium over the PK2? Agh, diminishing returns, my least favorite thing about this hobby.

I only have a PA2V2. Anyone have experience with it and the MX980/PK1. Will it do them justice? I'm really set on these buds.
