FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

The price hasn't really increased, the amplifier still costs 1299$. It's just that now there is no option without a mono input, which had a slightly lower price.

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

I saw that one of the Mentor users on the FB Flux page left a review that Mentor even surpassed his V550Pro "I have my new Mentor burned-in at 150 hrs and it just sounds sublime. Outstages my V550 Pro and is more natural in tone. I’ve owned so many SS and tube HPs and I feel this outclasses...

Perhaps their answers end up in your spam. I had a similar situation. Then I found three replies from them) Another workable solution was to contact them via Facebook

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Ah, clearly, you apparently bought two amplifiers at different times. Indeed, on the website the adapter option is only available when ordering a stack at once. Perhaps this cable can be purchased separately from them for Mentor owners.

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Flux's adapter costs 120USD and is based on UP-OCC multi-strand cable produced from Ohno cryo-treated monocrystalline copper. I think your adapter is not at the same level as Flux offers; they offer all cables at almost cost.

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Very interesting article. It states that "For performance reasons, this connector is not driven with a voltage-balanced signal. Instead, it provides isolated left and right ground returns that are individually connected to the ground reference points in the left and right amplifiers." It looks...

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

In my opinion, this would be an unnecessary increase in the audio path stages and would reduce transparency. Plus adding another volume control to the circuit. In MJ3 it is not very high-level and is based on a simple Alps potentiometer, which is bound to introduce some more turbidity...

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Perhaps I wasn't quite clear. This is indicated in the Mentor section and is about improving the operating algorithm of the relay controller relative to the previous FA-series.

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Most likely the control algorithm is different. According to the website: "In this amplifier model, we have enhanced the volume control program for better system response and improved overall usability. This volume control eliminates the problem of volume imbalance between channels and enables...

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

You know, I wondered about this question recently too, but the response from the guys on Facebook didn't seem all that unequivocal to me. Here is part of a quote from their response "The Volot and Mentor amplifiers are similar in many ways. But their signature is slightly different. The Volot...

FLUX Mentor Class-A dual-mono headphone amplifier.

Well, as far as I know, CDE capacitors of this series are used in high-end, for example, by Mark Levinson. I am sure that the choice here was not made for the beautiful cover)

    Flux Lab Acoustics FA-10, FA-10 Pro, FA-12, FCN-10 & FA-12s Amplifiers - Summit-Fi for the People?: Reviews, Impressions & Discussion

Just for your reference. Distortion of tube amplifier could be even more 1% and that unit will be at high-end league. In fact high-end that is philosophy of getting natural sounding but not only the digits after comma)

How far you can turn the volume knob will also depend on the output level of the DAC. And this level is different for everyone, some have more, some have less.

Flux Lab Acoustics Dual Mono Headphone Amplifier, VOLOT - Mythical Giant or Giant Killer ? News, Speculation, Impressions, reviews and discussion

There is one nuance in your setup. Rotel DAC does not use chassis ground. Therefore, if the DAC has no ground, then the ground on the amplifier must be turned on.

Flux Lab Acoustics Dual Mono Headphone Amplifier, VOLOT - Mythical Giant or Giant Killer ? News, Speculation, Impressions, reviews and discussion

Guys, I think if the amplifier designed to operate without a fan, then it is better not to use it, as this will prevent the amplifier from entering the operating mode. That is, by installing a fan, you will not improve the sound, but only worsen it.

Flux Lab Acoustics Dual Mono Headphone Amplifier, VOLOT - Mythical Giant or Giant Killer ? News, Speculation, Impressions, reviews and discussion

As I understood from the review, the approximate percentages were indicated in the "output power" section and only concerns the dynamic swings. But in other aspects, such as liveliness, naturalness and soundstage, Volot was better. Again, keep in mind that connecting headphones to such powerful...

Flux Lab Acoustics Dual Mono Headphone Amplifier, VOLOT - Mythical Giant or Giant Killer ? News, Speculation, Impressions, reviews and discussion

Flux says that Volot can be turned on without load for as long as necessary and it is fully designed for this. The transformer could burn out due to the presence of a latent defect. The transportation of the device could aggravate this as the device broke down almost immediately after receiving it.

It is sad, of course, that this happened. Unfortunately, no amount of certification will protect us from production nuances. This is neither good nor bad, it is a fact. Defects frequently meet in our lives. We know this from the sad stories of battery fires from A-brands like Tesla, Dell, Apple...

Very useful point of view. Thanks. Undoubtedly, the quality of circuitry and components plays an essential role in the creation of technology. To a greater extent, I agree with the opinion that you can want or get a much higher result from listed headphones model. But let's be honest, none of...

Regarding the darkened high frequencies of FA-10. That is a big advantage relative to other devices. Those, when the detail of high frequencies is at a high level, but there is no dominance of the high-frequency range over the rest part of the spectrum, which creates the effect of a wider...

    Topping A90

Just checked at the Topping A90 photos and was surprised that it is utilized tpa6120a2 as the amplification chips that cost $ 1.5 at the digi-key. I remember that the same chips were installed in the DAART Aquila and the sound was unremarkable. It is difficult to imagine good amplifier with the...

    Flux Lab Acoustics FA-10, FA-10 Pro, FA-12, FCN-10 & FA-12s Amplifiers - Summit-Fi for the People?: Reviews, Impressions & Discussion

Found out a little. If the circuit is balanced from input to output, then it will not be able to work simultaneously with balanced and unbalanced TRS output. For a balanced output, all four channels of the amplifier are required, for a TRS output, only two channels are needed and a common ground...
