Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
That is actually a very interesting thought, with the new fazor thing they got going, I barely have any room left for my ears. I'll try the usual "stretch the headband a lot" routine to see if it helps. That actually might be it- strannik

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Yeah I have a few spare parts to play with. Sad story, my rev1's right driver died a few months after warranty ran out. Turns out it costs an arm and a leg to repair those without warranty, ends up being much more sensible to buy a new LCD2 with a brand new warranty, hence all my troubles.- strannik

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Great, so I either went insane or got a badly constructed LCD2? It is quite bad, gives me headaches just from wearing this thing (never had a problem with the rev1) Anyway, I think I solved my problem, behold and despair! I present to you, Audeze LCD-2 - Frankenstein Edition! I've...- strannik

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
So, strange question: does anyone else feel that the newer LCD2 models are an awful mess when it comes to microphonics? Just put on your LCD2s, no music, and tap your fingers on the cable where the Y splitter is, it will sound like an damn earthquake in your head. I don't know how, but...- strannik

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Does anyone know if Audeze is still experiencing failing (dead) drivers with new LCD2 headphones or did they sort that out completely now? I'm thinking of buying a new pair of LCD2s, but am afraid if they are still having driver reliability issues. My current LCD2s had 3 driver failures in...- strannik

Quote: This doesn't always work it seems. If I turn on the unit and do the above, the battery does not drain at all, quite nice. Bad bit of news is if I play something on the stock player for a few seconds, pause it, and then repeat these steps the battery will still drain like crazy...- strannik

I use my JH16s for exercise and jogging, can't quite jump over a bridge, but haven't had any concerns so far.- strannik

Quote: You can always "update" to the old version, should the need arise. Downgrading the firmware works exactly the same way as upgrading. On a sad note, the screen protector that iBasso was kind enough to include scratches from just about anything. I got a large scratch on it...- strannik

It pains me to say it, but I've reverted back to firmware V1.03 for the sake of SQ. I really liked the changes of the new firmware, less sibilance, more emphasis on mids, poorly recorded records started sounding great, but the music that was brilliantly recorded and mastered stopped sounding...- strannik

Quote: The sound did appear to change, how very odd. It appears less sibilant, does anyone else feel the sibilance went down or am I just crazy? Some songs that really hurt my ears don't appear to do that anymore. EQ is still rubbish, oddly enough just turning the thing on...- strannik

Does anyone know if a firmware update could even fix an issue like battery drain? I have suspicions this is more the fault of the hw design than a software issue. The amp turns off when the music is not playing for a while, you can hear it, what is else is left that's draining the battery we can...- strannik

I'll second that. I'm hard pressed to find any SQ differences between my humble home rig and the DX100 with my JH16. Which is all I ever wanted out of a DAP. Quote:- strannik

Wow it has a search button at the end of it! My day just got a whole lot better :) And yes, the J3 UI was.. interesting, to put it lightly. After using it so much I have absolutely no qualms about the DX100's UI or even it's bugs. Quote:- strannik

A question for any JH13 or JH16 owners: at what volume number do you typically listen at? I don't want to blow my ears out :) Any perceived SQ difference between low and high gain?- strannik

Good to know I'm not the only one that finds the stock player to sound better. Poweramp and PlayerPro are nice and all, but the stock player sounds so much cleaner and more dynamic. I always get the sensation that there is a low background hiss with other players. I guess I'll have to put...- strannik

J3 always had trouble with hidden files created either by Mac or Linux, I think it's Flash based OS got really confused when it saw those. Considering that the DX100 runs Android which is Linux based, and is already chock full of hidden directories/files, you should have no issues...- strannik

I couldn't find this in the specs anywhere.. does anyone know if the DX100 has a built in speaker / buzzer / tweeter of any kind? Not for music or anything, just for things like alarms or notifications from android apps. Could be useful :)- strannik

Hey guys, some practical questions: for those of you that have received the DX100, how many days did it take to ship the unit? Was it shipped from China? Was it declared at full price or a bit less (oh those taxes.. )- strannik

I'm guessing you found the D18 to be a worthwhile upgrade to your D100? I've got a D100 myself which I think sounds awesome, leaves me wondering whether or not to take a plunge and upgrade to D18. Quote:- strannik
