Yes there is....but theres alot of hassle involved. The audeze lcd-i4 with insane amount of EQ can achieve somewhat that headphone effect with very high technicalities.

A used Zmf Atrium gets my vote.

To me not a problem....but i dont usually listen to EDM music where subbass is a concern. For almost all my music, i dont feel subbass to be lacking. (unlike the utopia and hd800 where i felt i could have more subbass)

I currently using a Wooaudio WA2 as a preamp and im loving it. I would also recommend a schiit freya tube preamp because of the full balanced nature and bypass tube feature

Sad that this headphone flew under the radar.....its imho the least compromised headphone i've heard yet (besides the comfort which to me is not a problem)

Will you be using an dac/amp to go with it? Moondrop para is a very good choice.

Wow that is some impressive bass extension from an open back dynamic driver.

I do use and tested 4 cables for the charybdis. I Liked all 4....although i dont think cables changes the FR of a headphone -stock -SPC 28awg 16 braid (most clarity) -eletech inferno (best soundstage) -effect code 23 (punchiest) all sounds good and i can live with any of them

Price will be scary......it uses 4 lundahl output transformers with silver wires.....1 is almost 5000 euros :L3000: And still mispelled lundahl in the brochure :k701smile:

Wondering if there something wrong with the elysian annihilator they using for demo...... It enters everyones most disappointed list. The AA composer and Heddphones 2 are indeed intriguing. Waiting for some impressions on the eletech purgatorio! That one looks great

Yes i still use the charybdis as my main headphone now with no plans to change to another :k701smile:

I used to own the lcd xc - 700 grams and thats uncomfortable for me. Also the blackwood vo at 550grams feels heavy to me. The charybdis at 700grams amazingly felt comfortable and not heavy. Not sure why. Possible due to the nice soft pads and headband. Of course cannot be compared to the more...

We also need to understand each reviewers individual preference, likes, dislikes and dont care for. All audio related stuff are subjective and we each have preferences and dislikes. What tracks they use to judge is also important. some examples from my findings -Resolve dont care much about...

Both of these are literally really the opposite of each other.... -Close vs open -metal/wood vs plastic -Dark vs bright -musical vs analytical -Bassy vs bass light -intimate ss vs wide ss - too many more Lets summarise the only similarities they have -both 300ohms and love the toobs

The zmf aeolus will be a perfect fit for you! Get a tube amp in the future. Fun, musical, addictive and forgiving. The lack of the ultinate technicalities is the stopper for me. Next step up should be the meze empyrean for the forgiving nature
